The most repulsive, sexist, stupid, adolecent, chauvanistic fantasy made by a god damn half-wit
This is one of the greats of all time. Hitchcock called it his best film. Suspense, intrigue, tension. Carey Grant making it all work. A great cast. Good settings. An all-time great!

The gratest satire ever made. Kubrick once again proved that he was his own competition.
1) It cannot be a knockoff, because it was made before Monty Python even existed. 2) This should be near the top of the list - it is one of the greatest movies and the greatest dark comedy of all time. 3) Instead of stating stupid stuff like,"overrated" or the like, tell us why the movies you like should be on the list.
Overrated by far. In the same way that The Golden Compass is underrated

What could have been a good movie is ruined by historical inaccuracies. Shoeless Joe Jackson was a shy, illiterate country bumpkin who looked up to Ty Cobb and could not wait to see his friend when the Tigers came to town, not at all what was portrayed in the movie. Cobb was loved by his fellow players.
Of course, you are quite entitled to express your opinions, bazeba, but you are also quite wrong. Field of Dreams is generally regarded as one of the finest movies of its time which was a delightful adult fantasy. Superb movie!
Without a doubt, one of the most overrated movies of all time. It is to film as To Kill a Mockingbird is to literature.

Timeless! Saw it when it 1st came out, and my son recently bought the D.V.D. and it was better than I remembered. (Warriors, come out and play!)

The first of the trilogy may not be my favorite, but all 3 of the films should be in the top 20 greatest films of all time. Artistically it was superb. The cinimatics were beautiful. The casting was perfect. I just couldn't find many flaws in these films.

First, because Christian Bale is here, second because fighting scenes are awesome, third because plot is great

A classic for me! Great special effects for its time! Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis are awesome in this movie! Very original!

It's one of those things that was a great idea when it came out, but this, and all of the Disney films that used simmilar techniques, will end up being dismissed as being cheesy retarded "fantasy" films against the likes of Potter, Rings and Narnia. Unless of course Robert Zemeckis decides to do a sequel.
Lord of the Rings is a totally different genre. This is a fun film, with amazing performances, great special effects from before computer generated effects, and very funny lines. It involved multiple studios and was nothing short of a commercial success. Comparing it to the newer movies from a different genre that take themselves too seriously isn't a fair comparison. This is a wonderful movie and stands the test of time.
It was definatly something when it came out. But in these post Lord of the Rings days, this fantasy film ends up being quite cheesy and flamboyant.
This is the greatest films of all time. It was great then and it is great now. The performances for actors working with air where animated characters were later added are still outstanding, unequaled.
Definatly something for it's time, but probably wouldn't hold a candle to modern day fantasy films.

The appropriate sequel to Going My Way, Ingrid Bergman and Bing Crosby starred. The only problem is that it is almost heartbreaking to think of the beautiful and talented Bergman as a nun.

How on earth can you call this masterpiece terrible? It is probably the finest horror/thriller ever made. A quite exceptional movie!

My bad. I should have noticed it's spelled both ways on the Internet. But TV Guide can't possibly be wrong and they have it just as entered originally. Apologies to to "guest"!

Why the negative comment? I thought the idea was to give the reasons FOR the ones you like, not to be snide. You might not like the genre, but maybe you might want to give it a try. This was an inspiring, fun movie.
