This movie contains the best presentation of Jesus of all Bible films. And the film also shows true heroism comes from dedication to the good and godly things.
Excellent movie, but it doesn't rate with movies like the second on this list, computers or not. Definitely Hammy. It was a good movie in its time.
The acting is hammy by today's standards but you have to look beyond that. This is true art. Admire the film for what it is and not what it isn't. Learn to appreciate it as a milestone in the history of cinema. Filmmaking wasn't so easy back then, they didn't have computers and green screens and all that jazz.
This move should be top 20 at least. Awesome movie, chariot race seen is still spectacular after all these years.

This is The best Christmas movie EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This movie is truly inspiring because George Bailey believes that the world would be better off if he had never been born, but when he gets his wish that he was never born, he realizes how many people there are whose lives would have been ruined if it hadn't been for him, and he realizes what a truly wonderful life he has!!!!!! 😊

Commedy of Billy Wilder which ridicules American capitalizm and russian socialism both to the excess, staring James Cagney, Horst Buchholz, the Top of german actors from the early 60ties. A showpiece of human nature. Good for 1 hour laughs although with a serious lesson. "Sitzen machen!"

“Popcorn pictures have always ruled. Why do people go see these popcorn pictures when they’re not good? Why is the public so stupid? That’s not my fault. I just understood what people like to go see, and Steven [Spielberg] has, too, and we go for that.” – George Lucas

The last I remember, "the movie all other moviemakers wanted to make" was Lord of the Rings. Without that, we probably wouldn't have had The Golden Compass, Pirates of the Carribean and Chronicles of Narnia among others
Why would anyone attach such a comment onto a great movie? This list is a good representation of movies over the decades. Most of the movies mentioned in the negative comment are very computer produced and only came about in the past ten years. Movies, good movies, and yes even great movies were made long before this time period. Instead of commenting negatively, add your movies and vote for them. Meanwhile, Play it again, Sam.
This list is terrible. People putting crap old B - Moves ahead of The Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings? In a perfect world the top 10 would consist or the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Chronicles of Narnia movies, the Pirates of the Carribean movies, The Golden Compass and Avatar
"Louie, this could be start of a beautiful friendship."
"Here's looking at you kid."
"We'll always have Paris."
"Don't forget, this gun is pointed at your heart." "That is my least vulnerable spot."
"Play it Sam. If she can take it, I can take it."
(He never says, "Play it again, Sam").
It is the movie that all other movie makers want to make. It cannot be overrated. Great acting, a great script, the pacing, the drama, the humor, the cinematography - if someone could only see one movie in their lifetime, Casablanca is the one.
This is one of the movies that you can watch over and over again, without ever diminishing the experience. A noir masterpiece, from the golden days of cinema, Casablanca is possibly the best movie I've ever seen, and Rick Blaine is without a doubt one of those unforgettable characters that will still win our hearts.
