i love this anime so much im so glad i kept watching it but this is an anime for someone who can actually investigate a lot of time and rewind because with all the switching around it can get soooo confusing.

I love how you had to follow the story line to understand where everything began it was brilliant work

When I was at the age of 7,I've started to watch Vampire Knight.Zero Kiryu,so SEXY ,Kaname Kuran, so HANDSOME !!!!! And also , Yuki Cross ,so BEAUTIFUL !!!!! OMG ! XD!

I have watched this anime over 50 times, and searched the damn internet for season 3 for almost 2 years. I finally found that season 3 "Vampire Knight destiny" is on it's way to Australia some time in 2013. For anyone who loves vampire based romance/action/twists and riddles, season 3 is going to leave you spineless, it will actually because the secret was revealed in Japan yesterday on a Japanese news channel and boy the cover looked EPIC! And for the rivals between who Yuki should take as her husband, it's gonna leave you sitting on the floor crying for weeks. AH well no more spoilers from me and besides i got this info from a friend in Japan so get ready for...~VAMPIRE KNIGHT DESTINY~

Really a great and amazingly original anime. Haven't read the manga but I'm sure it is amazing as well...

Okay, everyóne saying this is like Twilight, just can it. Twilight came out way after this awesome Anime/Manga and don't you dare compare it anyway. Vampire Knight doesn't rely on its love story only and everyone who watched it will know the series doesn't even focus on Yuuki but on Zero at the beginning. The story even gets prety complicated at the end. This is by all means the best vampire-based Anime I've ever watched.

It's way too much like twilight and I feel like I've seen it all before you know? If you're just starting out into anime then it's a good watch but otherwise I'd recomend something different

woah!! this is the ebst vampire anme thati've watched and it makes me watch all over again.. but hopefully i'm still waiting for season 3. and my favorite sound tracks especially the ENDING THEME "STILL DOLL".

i watched the first season waiting for something good to happen... nothing, i started whatching the second season, it was just as boring, no guy in there right mind would like this, and us girls only whatch it for the cute guys, pretty crappy anime with a crappy plot...

Mostly a girl-anime. Tried to watch it, got tired of the repetitive talking/sucking blood/etc. Reminds me too much of that crappy book series, Twilight.

Naruto is awsome and should be at the top five because of the amazing story and quality of the fights. It is emotional, funny, and AWSOME. To me ot is number one for everything. My favorite character would be neji because he sacrificed his life for naruto. I'll never forget him😢.

Naruto was the first anime I ever watched and now I cannot get enough! The episodes always had emotion, despite a lot of them being fillers. I remember getting so excited while watching the shows and even the movies! The characters seemed real to me, because they didn't just feel one emotion the entire series, they are complex characters and the plot is amazing! The plot always made me wonder and dream of ways it could end, I always learned moral lessons and the love that Naruto has for all of his friends is awe inspiring, despite going through a hellish childhood. Despite Sakura treating him like crap (she is my favorite character I am not bashing), Sasuke's issues, and not only the village's attitude towards him, but the entire world's attitude he still loved each and everyone of them. I have never seen a more awe inspiring anime in my life and believe me I have seen more then my fair share!!

Naruto is an amazing show. im not kidding, at first Naruto is like dragon ball at he beginning, childish, but as you go deeper, the plot get deeper, and you feel for the characters. but Naruto shippuden is where its at. Naruto shippuden has all that plus more. the fights get to the point of ledgendary, and sadly it gets too deep. like ok deep is spending an episode of greif. too deep is make a whole 34 episodes about kakashi's past. anyways it has that thing that hooked me to anime. when i watched fairy tail before Naruto, i thought anime wasn't even good. but Naruto and anruto shippuden taught me to be patient, an how characters feel, and many life lessons to. also Naruto keeps a special spot in my heart. its higher then some people in my life, for sure. but i value people more and have become a better person because of this

What?! Number 18?! you gotta be joking...I know there's a thousand episodes and it drags on but this should be number 1. first off, it's the most inspirational anime I've ever seen. It will make you cry and you will never feel sad the show has ended because it's still going. All the episodes are planned out very well and might be used for something later in the show. You must watch WAY more than 3 or 5 episodes to grow a liking to it but once it got really interesting, you will get hooked!

You should not judge Naruto from just watching the first few episodes. I love how someone said that Naruto always ends up defeating his opponents in the end. That's not really true. I loved this anime because it's more realistic. Good people die, and bad people die. There are difficult things that Naruto does overcome, and some of them he doesn't. Shippuden makes this anime even greater, too. They only made the filler episodes because the anime caught up with the manga. The filler episodes don't really matter that much to watch unless you read the Manga. Btw. Don't skip the Filler Episodes. Bad idea, because they weave important stuff into the filler episodes, so you might miss it.

Number 19? Seriously. No. This should be number one. This anime wasn't just a show to me. It was much more than that. It inspired me in so many ways in life. I'd been lost in my depression and I couldn't figure out what I was going to do with my life, but after watching Naruto... I was so happy and I realized my dreams and goals. It's such an amazing and inspiring anime, and it's fun and entertaining. Sure there are a lot of filler episodes, but honestly, those were all pretty good too.

Where is Naruto Shippuden,Fairy tail, Bleach and One Piece they should be in top 5 with Naruto in my opinion...

Naruto? Number 23? Something isn't right. Yes, I am aware that it has a bunch of fillers that may make viewers lose sight of the real plot. But so what? This anime has very inspiring and pleasant characters, a superb storyline, fight scenes that can leave you speechless, and some very useful life lessons that some people could use nowadays. This series deserves someplace in the top 10. I mean, really? (I don't hate these animes by the way) D.N.Angel, Elemental Gelade, and Ah! My Goddess are in the top 10? Are you serious?

How...how isn't this number 1?? Whenever anime/manga is even mentioned or thought of, this is the one that comes to mind! Insane.

Great story line, good character development, well done twist, great manga, but anime wise... uhm, I believe Fillers episodes destroy the story. I love Naruto, I honestly do. But the fillers started to bore me, like for this certain season there's at least more than half Fillers than the original story. Additionally, supporting/side characters are so numerous it's not even funny at all. Side the fact each of those side characters has their own past story that's been narrated even though the connection to the present event is way too far to be considered important. Those thing made this anime bad, thus the reason I quit watching it.

This Anime is truly one of the best Animes ever Can't be compared to any other Anime, Characters are well enhanced during the Anime, tricks and fighting skills is on whole another level in addition that the anime itself include alot of morals and ethics about friendship hardwork and changing the world everything is just amazing this anime is way better than any other anime it's going to end really soon but still it should be counted as no 1 anime

naruto is the first picture that comes to mind whenever a person hears the word 'anime'. right now, the francise is practically the DEFINITION of ANIME, or pretty much JAPAN.

Naruto is the best Anime ever. The number of charatures/ "powers" per charature will amaze you. The fighting and battle animation totally rocks. It starts so simple and childish but developes into a huge and very dynamic story. The charature development is really good. There is alot of comedy and slap-stick type stuff I guess so it's nice to laugh every few episodes. There is a really cool spiritual concept throughout the anime. I also liked the idealist and positive thinking protagonist. I highly recomind watching it but only if you watch the whole thing. Naruto Shippuden much also be watched aw well seeing as how Naruto is only half the story.

Naruto is the best anime ever!!! I love Itachi and Deidara. Tobi makes me laugh. and Naruto is just like me.I own the first season, I have Orochimaru's earing, and I own 6 Naruto manga books. I can never get enough of this anime.

I'm 31 years old. I've been watching anime longer than many of you have been alive. Naruto is a great series. Some of you think you can't like it because it's popular. Don't want to ruin your rep as a hardcore anime freak huh? Forget that nonsense. The show has a great storyline, with plot twists that are perfectly coherent and come at just the right time. Character development is second to none. It has humor, sorrow, wicked fight scenes, and anything you could want from an anime. Unfortunately, like all my other favorites, I fear for the ending of this show.

At the moment this is by far my favorite anime. I liked the fact that the writer(s) took the time to develop each character, especially Naruto. Unlike Bleach, which i love by the way, you can see the gradual progress of not only the characters but the plot as well( the fact the Naruto wasn't an overnight hero is quite refreshing). This is one anime where sheer hard work and determination beats it all. Even though it's a long series, the plot stays strong and does not deviate, the characters; you can't get enough of. It's an excellent piece. My only problem is waiting for the next episode, one a week, i think I'm really feed up with that. However, to the writers and directors of this anime, i applaud you.

This anime Continues in Shippuden .... Where the main characters grew and mature .... a lil kib would lose interest because its very mature .... I personaly Hated it once but .. I have come to realize that its the best Anime in the world ... bleach came First of Course ... i was hating on one piece too... but now its one of my favorite .... The rule is if you like watching anime give each and every anime a chance to prove themselves how nice they can get..I mean they entertain us after all (Naruto~Naruto Shippuden~Bleach~One Piece) are now my top Favorite anime and to think that I use to hate...I just give the a Change .. and next thing you ..THIS happens!!!

This anime should be way up on the list. Seriously, anyone who has gotten through the show has been hooked on it. And yea, it has fillers, but the story is worth all the fillers. Just looking up information on the characters in the show make me believe that this anime should be considered to be the greatest anime ever created. The show gets so ridiculous that its ridiculously awesome! One Piece, Death Note, DBZ, and FMA should all be in the top 10 or 15 at least.

Amazing anime only down fall is that its hard to watch because of all the fillers if you watch it make sure to skip fillers

for all of you who say this anime is too long really?????? I rather have an anime be too long and great then great 24 episodes long and leave you wanting more. Great Anime, great cast, great story. Naruto is a decent anime with some of the most epic fights you could find in any animes. Naruto vs Pain fight for example. The only drawback of this anime is fillers, which you can skip. But once again, fighting elements in this anime are extremely well made which you will not be able to guess or predict.

If you watch it from the beginning you will start to feel connected to some situations. The fights are sick. Just have patient and watch it

Two phrases: 1. CP9 arc 2. War of the best arc If you watched those two, you now this is better than Naruto, Bleach, Death Note (been trying to finish DN for two years, always get bored, same with Code Geass). It continues to get more intense and the world keeps opening up without feeling forced or artificial (like Bleach)

Love it. Makes you cry laugh and cry again. This list is rigged if Naruto is #50. The way I tell if a list is worth looking at or not is with whats i the top ten spots. If it's something like Naruto, bleach, one peice, death note and stuff like that i look at the list.if Naruto bleach or one peice is not at the one of the top three spots then I find a new list :/

I agree that all of the Naruto fillers absolutely KILL the show. But i just watched it all together and skipped the fillers and it is a great anime. You have to admit that some of the fight scenes in naruto shippuden are second to NONE. Team 10 and Kakashi vs. Hidan and that other dude, the fight sequences in that scene are some of the best of all time. But seriously cut it with the fillers

The way the guys look and being in a club + the female don't even look like a girl IMO (In My Opinion). Full metal alchemist is like 80 episodes (15 eps from orignal anime, the rest from brotherhood)- how is the comparable to the dragonball franchise (dragon ball and z are mixed- GT was directed by somebody else, well the start anyway and is not part of the manga). Please tell me how 350+ episodes are compariable to a mere 80. Like I said before, long animes (above 150 eps) should not be compared to shorter ones. Code geass and death are the 2 greatest animes ever. However, for mecha the gudam franchise is far superior (for mecha only, not as a whole). DBZ is considered a male anime, which many people enjoy- the fact that it contains no romance and avatar/ ouran high/ fruit basker all do, I'm going to speculate that your a girl (not being sexist in any way, just stating my opinion). Futhermore, there are more males than females viewers in anime, therefore DBZ is far superior than avatar and the current big 3 :) Manga/ Anime sales show this (on a global scale). Dude,i am from Turkey.Pls read my sentence well before you criticised me.I have never said that avatar was so popular in all over the world.And i have never said that i didnot like short series,i did say i liked long series.I have watched animes for about 10 years and i am really an animemaniac that the only thing that i do in my free time is to watch anime.I donot know how many anime i have watched so far.I do like short animes too for example GTO,Fruit basket,Minami-ke,ouran high,special A...(there are so many that i cannot list).Fairy tail is also good and will be greater and DBZ is the best among DB series but for me is not good enough to compare with naruto-one piece-bleach.Actually if we count avatar as an anime,avatar is far better than DBZ.I could only compare DBZ with inuyasha and full metal alchemist.These are my thoughts and i respect your all personal thoughts...

This is because not many japenese or other countries have watched avatar. Additionally, you say you say you don't like short animes- you do know nearly all of the TOP 50 animes in this list, if not the world, consists of animes below 100 episodes. The BIG 3 (naruto, bleach and one piece) shouldn't really be considered to shorter animes. This is because, these mangas (comics turned into anime) have SOO many episodes because they were extrmly popular, especially in america (well more naruto and bleach then one piece- but one piece is most popular is japan- and one piece was cur of in america cause they kept cutting half the ****- cause they thought it was inappropirate). Personally, one piece is far better than bleach, but just a little under naruto. But, DBZ is the best. Fairy tail, one piece, naruto, DBZ and bleach should be only be compared together. Overall, you should get into the habit of shorter animes, if you plan on watching, whats known as the greatest animes of all time. However, nowadays the new anime trend is reallly long ongoing animes tend to be the better considered the better animes (especially in america).

For me the top 3 should be naruto-bleach-one piece.I donot think everyone who voted here watched all the episodes of this three.Because these 3 animes have around 1000 episodes in total.I know everyone has a diffirent taste about both animes and other things.But believe me if you watch all these 3 animes you will understand what i mean. About naruto,i think everyone give here their votes counting naruto shippuuden.For me without shippuuden this anime is a ordinary anime.With shippuuden both scenario and the characters has gain a momentum.But to understand the scenario you should watch naruto too.I have watched so many animes including dragon ball series,full metal,avatar,bleach,one piece,death note,code geass(because i like long series) but this one is the best anime i have ever watched(my favorite character is jiraiya-ero sennin-i wish he was in the anime now.

I agree the fillers are stupid but once you get pass that you will not regret watching it. Now if you dont want to watch the filler eps, as many have said, read the manga. Shippuden is the best thing out there right now. Naruto gets a lot stronger and doesn't say any stupid stuff like before. Sasuke, well, what can I say? You have to watch it. The story gets more and more interesting. This is mature stuff and not kids stuff seriously don't underestimate the anime!

The first couple of arks are good. But after one of the mail villains die (Oorichimaru) and after the attack of Akatsuki it has just become so lame that i am no longer watching. And they have entire filler arks.

If you take out all the fillers, there's only 10 episodes left. You only get one fight every 6 months!! Great, NOT.

Great anime a must watch, however too many filler episodes and way too much taling before, during and after most if not all fights in the whole series.

I am really surprised that this is ranked so low, this and Bleach should be way higher on the list. For those of you who are complaining about the filler episodes and Naruto's cheesy speeches, all I can say is to read the manga, there are no filler episodes or filler arcs. And once it gets to Naruto Shippuden, the plot gets to be really good, really fast and keeps getting better as the plot moves along. Also, once you get to Shippuden, Naruto's character gets much better, he stops making cheesy speeches and he gets much smarter as well. Although, in terms of filler eps, there is a total of one that I think is worth watching because it is hilarious, episode 101 is the best filler I've ever seen, I literally could not stop laughing. Now that I think about it, it would be my favorite anime if the plot wasn't so slow, but other than that it's awesome

Again... to people who are not really avid Naruto and Bleach fans... the anime versions are Excellent but you have to NOT watch some of the filler Episodes which ruins your viewing!!! Naruto and Bleach are Graphic Novels so I suggest you watch Episodes that are really in the Novels and Not watch the other Filler episodes and then rethink what you just said about these animes!!!

"Millions watch it" is not a valid argument whatsoever. The only reason millions watch it is because it is provided to the billions of children on this Earth through the biggest cartoon network(s). Majority statistics prove nothing of a show's quality :P

This anime sucks and should not even be ranked this high. The main character always gives his cheesy long speeches every episode and always magically manages to overcome his opponents in the end.

It sucks! Well maybe not the first part (until sasuke leaves) which has a decent story. I watch it because it was popular and I was very disappointed. To be fair I’d have probably like that when I was 10 years old.

The highlight episodes are great, fillers are meh.. Still, definitely worth watching. I watch it every week along with my beloved One Piece :)

I love this anime. Hate most of the filler (5 tails arc anyone BLAH) and the flashbacks are out of control. Definitely deserving to be in the top 20. If sailor moon beats this and one piece then you're all freaking retarded.

Naruto is good once you week out ALL the freaking filler eps. Shippuuden is making this one of my top picks.

this is pure injustice. FMA(B) deserve to be top 5 at least. it has everything; action, suspence, twist, love, tragedy, humanity, ideals, humour, randomness, and baddassery. not just that, all of it are more or less exist in real life. the pain brought from war, the extermely biased yet extremely overlooked racism, the 'big guns' showing off their powers by oppressing other nations, and many, many more. it can be said that FMA(B) is Arakawa-sensei's personal, cloaked criticism to the world. pure brilliant.

fullmetal alchemist should be 1

This really should be at least top ten in my opinion. The art is good, the plot is well thought out, most episodes make you rather emotional at the end, the tunes and songs chosen for the anime are brilliant, the anime has some deeper meaning, it is very believable and on top of all that it still has some humor. The only animes I have seen that could rank above this is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and possibly Deathnote. All in all, a brilliant anime.

ok i do NOT see why this isnt #1!! it has an amazing and very original plot, the characters are so real, and emotion and suspense are top-notch. Even with the fantasy elements in it, it makes you rethink your morals. I feel deeply affected by this anime, and the only thing i hate is how the ending was a cliffhanger, and he didnt marry winry... I havent watched brotherhood cuz i just cant get over the change aand how it starts weird :( but i wil try to watch it since i hear he plots better... and really, how in the world did this not get at least #2?!

in my opinion the FMA is greatest anime I ever seen the characters are sambols of our world . it simply show you the way how should you manage to reach the victory . you see the Patience of tow brothers, they,re in a lot pains but they never cross the line let me tell a secret , most people think crossing the line are necessary for victory and their goals you may reach such victory but this way you lose yours friends so how can you hold on to it

I cried on the 7th episode of FMA... the 7TH.

But he DOES grow tall in FMA brotherhood. I watched FMA first, and then FMA Brotherhood, and to me, the ending in FMA kinda left you hanging, but in FMA brotherhood it kinda leaves you happy and allows you to move on to another anime haha.

In my opinion this should be number 1! Death Note is good also but the FMA is better. The first series had more drama, but brotherhood is more sci-fi and is more breath taking (mostly the finishing episodes).

This just has to be number one. The characters are all just awesome, and the concept is amazing. This is hands down my favorite anime... touching, hilarious, action-y, and pretty much everything, I guess.... but in a really, really, really good way.

Watch FMA (Full Metal Alchamist) orginal anime series and finish it. The first series is very emotinal in a good way- not much romance tho lol. Then watch Brotherhood frm episode 13- basically the first series caught up to the manga (comics) and decided to make their own ending. After he goes to the devils inn (or wateva), brotherhood continues from the manga. Although, I don't like the new animation graphics in brotherhood + it's not as emotional as the original but better story line (obviously, since the manga plot is EPIC).

FMA got really stupid in the end.Lots of loose ends. FMA brotherhood is much better story wise. It sticks to the manga but the animation isnt as good as FMA's. PS Ed DOES grow taller. Check the manga or Brotherhood if you dont believe me :P

Brotherhood is a pretty solid anime, it has good story and is more rapid than the first one, untill you get to the ending, fillers finally hit this at later arch's you get crap on your bread, ending is averige but original. Recomend to people who are new to the "scene"

The real manga adaptation is called Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. The plot is great as is the animation. The characters' struggles are for me the best thing in this anime.

I absolutely loved this series. Great character development and had a good way of changing between characters. Was happy that the main protagonist ended up with the girl I had been routing for throughout the entire series. They were definitely destined to be together. Really good anime like True Tears and Clannad, chock full of drama and romance. If you like these genres you are in luck.

I like the comedy and the hot babes and the awesome fighting, but he true is the role that the main character sucks!! and the ending is even worse.

Very under-rated anime. It very well deserves to be at least in top 10. Anime has a very intense story line wich makes episodes go very fast. Characters are very well drawn and is said to be made by the same author as bible black...so expect a lot of hot bodies in this anime...yeah The anime posses a lot of hilarious moments which will make you laugh to your tears, but don't get me wrong it is quite serious and hardcore anime, although not one of those were some of the main characters would die...but you never know :) Episodes are full of martial art fights with characters equipped by supernatural powers and secret techniques.

it's good, funny and all, but you really should check the list of fillers before starting to watch. The fillers ruins the actual series.

This anime was simply awesome, but it should have ended after the Aizen situation resolved. Everything after that.. I don't know, it just got weird. It's almost like someone was forcing Tite Kubo to continue Bleach. After the Aizen situation was resolved, there was nothing left to say. No loose ends to tie up, it was just over with. If Kubo wanted to continue Bleach, he should have just made another Bleach series as opposed to adding more onto it. I suppose somewhere down the line, maybe it will all tie together, but I really lost interest in it after all the Aizen stuff. Also, the "filler" seasons were mostly terrible and not worth watching, so skip them and just stick with the main story. This is a great anime, but it's also the perfect example of an anime that should have been over already.

Bleach was so so SOOO good... until around episode 63 or so, when they decided to turn it into a franchise. They stopped all the battles, brought back all the dead characters (oh, they were all just in the hospital...), and the evil bad guy suddenly flew away into the sky saying "We'll meet again...!" I really tried to give it another chance, but the next 50 or so episodes were absolutely terrible, so I stopped watching. Do not watch, it's not worth the disappointment.

Bleach was the second anime I had ever watch and I instantly fell in love! It's so worth watching and it's so much fun trying to figure out everyone's zanpakto and powers and stuff. The only thing that I don't like is the filler arcs at the begining like with the bounts and the kasumiojis. They're long and they take away from the plot a little bit. The arcs that follow the manga are so much easier to follow :)

It was great at the beginning, and my favourite arc was the saving Rukia one. The Espada arc was amazing too. This anime has great characters and decent plot development, but after Aizen died it got very pointless, and now I am only watching it because I want to see how it ends.

It's one of my favorite anime's of all time. The show kind of looses it's edge after the soul society arc. The tone shifts towards a more silly/idotic tone after it, (which to be fair is common in most animes.) and the music gets... really bad. The story is really good, the animation is generally really beautifull. The action is really good. Not the most thought provoing anime in the world, but niether is dragon ball z and we all love that.

Great anime and deserves to be higher in the ranks. I agree that alot of the episodes are filler and sequences are dragged out a bit to long but nonetheless it is a great show with funny moments and good fight scenes. I wish there was more diversity in their abilities. read the manga and u will b able to skip the filler(but yall should check out the Zanpakto rebellion arc it is worth watching)

This is in my favorite anime show ever. Unfortunately it jumped the shark when they returned from the Soul Society (I think the episode number was somewhere in the high 80s to low 100s when it turned bad). It became so stupid that I could no longer watch it.

THIS SHOW STARTS OUT AS THE BEST ANIME EVER THE ORIGINAL CHARACTERS ARE PRICELESS , but slowly downslides into never ending repition. The creaters got lazy and lost all creativity. Yeah its cool to see something grow into infinite power, but come on not another Dragon ball z ..........................throw up blahhh!

This is really good fun to watch, and gives you those moments of shivers when a character reaches another level just in time. However, the skill levels of the opponents and the heroes suddenly go all screwy around the Huecho Mundo arc and beyond. People who were impossibly strong are suddenly children against new opponents. Heroes increase their levels with no real training involved.

It's so sad that Kenshin is only ranked 55 on this list. I have watched tons of anime series and read even more manga, at the age of 31, and yet Kenshin has remained the most outstanding piece of work. Maybe the rating was reduced due to the insanely stupid 3rd arc (ensuing the Shishi-arc)... If the real 3rd arc would be adapted into an anime (and then also more young people would get to know about Kenshin), then it would be the most amazing anime of all time.

Dang this show takes me back. This show is wat made me passionately watch all sorts of anime. it was a sweet escape from hours of Goku and freeza staring each other down. Its not known to many of my friends so I never get to reminisce about it often but It is one of my favorites and like my first big boy bike nothing can ever measure up to it.

By far my fav anime series, lost it a bit from gen IV but then picked right back u in Gen V (Season 14) It has a funny side and a serious side. Im 14 and still evey week I download the new episode of POKEMON!

Not to popular anymore. For little kids mostly.I'm 13 and stopped watching when I was 10. Sometimes I watch a new episode but it lost it's touch.how do you really remember all of the pokemons. Thats just amazing. The one part I still love is the first movie and all the theme songs. I listen to them all the time. My little nerdy secret ^-^

A mystery hidden within another mystery. This show kept me guessing at every second. A very interesting show, and anyone who is concerned about an undeveloped plot is only missing the things that were hidden.. something many of us do. For me, I'd put it in top 2

i felt the direction of the series never really establishes itself unless there were other pieces. i watched the entire 1st season to the last 2-3 episodes before i gave up, just to assure i gave it a chance as some long winded anime requires. I even peeked at season 2 which did look interesting, but only in a direction that even more unanswered questions arised. if you like a simple plot episode by episode with minimal progress in overall theme and character developing it may have something for you

As far as stories go, Darker than black was a great series if you are into primarily character development.

the first 3 books were just AWESOME, great storyline, fantastic carakters with much action, drama, romance, comedy. all in all a VERY good anime/comic. but than they did this TERRIBLE movie and the EVEN MORE TERRIBLE 2nd season with korra as new main char. guys trust me the movie+ the legend of korra are just a waste of time. the storry is just bad and nothing compared to the first 3 awesome books of aang :D

It's got a great storyline, and has lots of twists. It's suitable for lots of different age groups, which is also really good. I was originally a Zutara fan, but then I realized that I don't really like Katara anyway... I'm so disappointed, I actually though Night Shyamalan was a good director. That was actually beyond words, in a negative sort of way.

This is surprisingly a great nickelodeon cartoon series, i got hooked when i was little, took them years to make new eps and finish the dam series. Great characters and plot however the ending movie sucked and so did the live action film of the first book. Wish it wasn't a cartoon would have been more interesting if it was a *** anime with less restrictions for kids. But a must see.

Really is an awesome anime. You can't help but feel despair at the strength of the espada in the hueco mundo series, and think that Ulquirroa was so strong at only no.4, it almost seemed unreasonable...but they managed to pull it off yeah? ;)

I agree with everyone. Underseen and underated. An AMAZING story, but I have to say that it's incredibly dark, violent, and disturbing. The ending is shocking to say the least with a hell of a cliffhanger that is never resolved unless you read the manga. one of my all time faves though.

The anime is still my favourite but it is the best manga i have ever read. i can't recommend it enough! not for the faint hearted or young however as it is very violent and features rape and torture. Also they are remaking it i don't know if anyone has seen the short clips on youtube? Looks ace

i don't think it's anything like the movie 300. this one should be in the top 3 with death note and geass. it's not about violence and gore for it's own sake. it has one of the deepest, most compelling stories you've ever seen. unfortunately the animation quality is not up there with bebop and geass, but it is still good. if you want a deep story that will touch you, watch berserk, you won't regret it.

The plot is great and the characters are well developed. The animation is not very good and only the first part of the manga has been adapted so you're left in the middle of something, it bothers me.

This is one of those epic animes that will stay with you forever. After I finished watching it, I got one of those feelings in my stomach like another chapter of my life had been completed. Absolutely the best anime ever created in my opinion, followed by fullmetal alchemist and death note.

I believe they are making a season 2 for this still in the working stages, but if not the manga continues on too. This anime was very relaxing and fun to watch about a girl who wants to get revenge on her ex-boyfriend, whos actually a rising star. So she decides that she's gonna bust into the stardom industry and try to outshine him, to make him regret all the things hes done.

This is the anime that got me into watching animes. Before I started watching the show, I used to make fun of people who watch animes. But then one night I got super baked and it happened to come on my tv and my mind was blown. I love everything about it, the animation, the concept, the plot, the comedy and the dirtiest scumbag of a villian in Naraku. Should be MUCH higher.

This is my most fav anime at the moment it's a really good but kick anime I've ever watched this should at least be number 5 i I mean come on if you don't like this anime your insane the whole slaying demons, the love story, and don't get me started on the quest for the sacred jewel. I highly recommend this epic anime and if you don't like it again you are in lnsane. Watch it

One kick ass anime, and personally, i think it should have been higher. The anime is good and so is the plot but i think there should be more in there about kagome and inuyasha and less on the love triangle and a lil too much useless violence. Yes, i love action romances but this one was a lil too...out of balence, one of them was almost always hurt physicly or verbally, and i wish at the end of the anime they would have shown more love for eachother. All in all though it was a good action romance comedy anime with cute characters and its not too light or heavy. 200+ episodes and 4 movies, making a 5th. SPOILER!!!!! There are whispers going around that in the 5th movie inuyasha get kagome pregnate in his human form and she is trying to tell him when his brother shows up (kagome in the 5th movie calls seshomaru, who is inuyashas older, full demon brother, big brother and the first time she called him that he blushed! Hee!) and interupts her while he battles his lil bro again, motally wounding inuyasha and kagome goes back home and doesnt return for several weeks. Once inuyasha awakens and asks how long he had been under they tell him two weeks and he immedietly asks where kagome is and they tell him the truth. When he hears this he rushes out and into the well only to find once he gets to the other side that kagome no long lives there and all traces of her are gone except a small stuffed animalwhitch inuyasha keeps as he goes back and tells everyone he wont be back for a long time, going to look for kagome. Afterwords he jumps back into kagomes world and serches for her for years. To make a long stary straight he found her in a house with her brother in san antonio and she threwherself into his arms crying like a baby and they she brings him into the house and into a room where she shows him a baby boy with black hair and a set of soft black ears. i dont know what happens after that, i know this because i have a cousin in japan who works in the anime bussiness. =-)

Jeeeez! I like this but im not satisfied with the romance between kagume and inusyaha! seems like Inuyasha was really drawn to Kikyo and since she died, he turned to kagume who was hurting knowing that Kikyo is inuyasha's greatest love. Inuyasha would always go to kikyo just by hearing or sensing she's nearby taking for granted kagume! How i wish kagume fell for someone, like inuyasha's super handsome brother perhaps and make inuyasha jealous so that i would know how much he loved Kagume! I would be happy if it would be kagume and inuyasha's brother. I feel sorry for kagume... and it ends without me knowing if inuyasha truly loved kagume or how much he cared for her...

Inuyasha is so funny and he is romantic, protective, a good demon, cute person(Demon) The show is great but i think kagome should be more stronger. She can't let him do all the work(fighting demons). Good anime

In my opinion, the greatest anime series of all-time. Rumiko Takahashi is a genious of masterpieces, along with Maison Ikkuko and Ranma 1/2. Beautiful story, I would recommend it to anyone!!

ahaha this anime.. I remember watching in on TV on a kids network and I saw a nude scene on live television rofl. It was when Kagome and that other girl were in the hotsprings and inyuasha went to check on Kagome and she got up and I saw it (i was a kid back then, say 8-9?) and I was like "I can't believe it"

Honestly, its a waste of time to watch this. Not because of the storyline, thats actually ok. But the ending of this is rushed and leaves many of the different plot lines unresolved. Now for a good anime that's a trade off, but this anime requires a big time investment to say the least.

This got me into anime when i first started whatching this, its a good series with a fair bit of action, humor and romances and the characters are great and likeable, however, they dragged it on for too long so i never finishes watching it.

I loved it years ago but had to stop watching. I got back into it a year ago and it kind of sucks when your older but as a child it was amazing. It also got me into anime and now I`m hooked.

Was a long time since I saw this and I haven't seen much final act. Inuyasha was initially really good and got me hooked. But they kept dragging out on it, it just kept starting over and over again. They should have finnished off that annoying villan a long time ago and moved on to something new. In the few episodes of final act that I have seen, it feels like they are in a rush to finnish it up.

I mean I read the manga and it still has 2 arcs left but it is not going to continue (from my point of view) for no apparent reason that was not said so. I am not sure if the problem was the budget or the business or the author but I'm sure that this anime and/or manga is amazing.

You know, the trick in KHR is to finish 'til the last. You got to see the events and battles that transpired in the later episodes. You could really see the development of the character. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I even wondered why it's only in the 64th. THIS RANKING GIVES NO JUSTICE!

Reborn is really good, good plot and character development, though it tends to get really cliched and predictable at times... starts off really slow, as most shounen animes do, but picks up after a while. Effects and soundtrack are pretty so-so, and comes across as an anime for pre-teens sometimes, but the story's interesting enough to keep you watching.

your wrong^ This is definetly the best ever :] its about a boy named Tsuna and how he's going to become a 10thgen mafia boss ^^ it starts off slow and his personality is pretty weak but its never boring and keeps you guessing constantly! :D all the evil characters are amazingly evil and cool 8) the only thing it lacks is Gore and Death, its about the Mafia but nobody dies bloodily or dies at all xD still, A NUMBER ONE!!!!

My favorite anime of all time and i've seen over 150 anime starting from classics, poppulars and unknown ones. Maybe one of the most underated and underseen anime out there. HOWEVER you must watch the complete show, season 1 and 2, if you want to understand the whole plot. Try beeing the detecdive and understand the story before it's reveal. I've never been able to find something similar beside umineko no naku koro, another anime that share some similarities and links... A must try at least.

My favourite Anime! 11/10, 5 stars! freaky as hell intricate plot, twists, blood, gore, comedy, deep psychotic characters, beautiful use of colour and good animation. What more could I/ you ask for??

This is acrually one of the best anime ever. Great story plot. I haven't seen season 2 myself, but just seeing season 1 gives me chills. I can never watch this alone especially when it's night time already - OKAY, I know this show is way better if you guys watch it at night because the story is really intense, boo for the animation, but you won't mind it after wards. I don't know. I swear I gotta recommend this to all people who likes mystery and blood. A 9.5/10

One of my all time favorite anime series. Mysterious, creepy, and scary. very suspenseful and climatic. Phychotic paranoia and horror! With a hautedly beautiful soundtract. Leaves you with "WHAT GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT!" feeling. At times it can SEEM kinda childish but that's what makes it ever more creepy.

it stopped at 103 cause the writer broke her wrist (And it was getting too close to the manga, so it worked out for stopping lol). I beleive she started writing again and has been releasing like... 1 episode or something per month since like december (releasing mangas btw, not anime).

although this anime wasn't about romance like the ones i usually watch, it is a really heart warming anime with a lot of action comedy and supernatural things. highly recommended.

Completely overwhelming story from start to end. Similar situation as in FMA but alot more compelling and extensive. Extensive to a degree that....yeah, its still not complete alongside the manga. :/ Watch if you liked FMA or even if you didnt!

Saddens me to see it ranked at 67, it's excellent anime if you want bit of everything and the strawberries.

Detective Conan is one of these animes (it's probably the only anime of a kind if you don't include Kindaichi case files.) that just build up suspense until you start sweating for what happens next. Also doesn't have the most used, extremely annoying cliches. Has Extreme moments. Doesn't drag out anything, fillers are good and they don't have any arcs. Not meant for people who don't love mystery or when there's nothing alike other animes.. One of the best!

I totally LOVE this Anime/Manga. Although I don't particularly like romance, i love this anime as the romance and the character's daily lives are intertwined with all the cases, and the characters are soooo freakin awesome.

In solding mangas in Japan conan beated bleach, naruto death note, inuyasha, black cat and was very close to dragon ball and one piece.

As if this didn't make at least top 20. This show is pure epicness for those who like mysteries, romance and comedy at the same time. The anime has really started to pick up the pace lately, and the movies are pretty good as well. Btw it's 600+ eps and 14 movies.

I'm a little sad this only made 37. This is a great show, although Inuyasha started me out on anime, I love this show so much better. But then again I love mysteries. And Conan is soo cute, but I wish they would turn him back adult already lol for those who don't know what this show is about, Jimmy Kudo is a teenage detective who gets poisoned which turns his body into a kid. He then solves mysteries with his crush Rachel, and her dad. This show has almost 600 episodes (still making them) and I believe 4 movies, possibly. Anyway, good show :)

This was the first anime that I ever watched for eight hours straight, the characters are not only hot. But the anime incorporates just the right amount of romance, with plenty of action. This anime made me cry, and cheer at the same time. EXCELLENT.

My favourite anime series(s) of all time. I don't usually cry that easily when it comes to animes but GS/GSD got me bawling for a few episodes. Personally, if i had to pick, I still prefer GS.

Objectively, it was a story of the errors of war and racism from the viewpoint of two teenagers that had once been friends, but wound up on opposite sides of the conflict. Both seasons were almost identical. The animation was incredibly, and I mean incredibly repetitive. You'd think it's a decently lengthed anime, but it's filled with recap episodes. Filled with them. You'll see the same scenes...hundreds of times, I promise. The plotlines have solutions so obvious that it's maddening. For these reasons, I did not like this anime. I gave it a chance by watching the entire thing.

This Show was bad ass and awesome, Way better then when it changed to GX or 5D's Yami Yugi was awesome.

the card games are boring....... but the characters are awesome and OMFG you just can't diss Yugi/Yami's hair!! ^_^ have to say the old/original episodes are best, and the abridged series on youtube!!! epicness

This is the best romantic comedy anime series i have ever watched! Usui is just too cool and handsome! I am waiting for the season 2..seems like romantic comedies ranked low compared to those with actions! and hey where is the skip beat?

Without a doubt one of the best animes I've ever watched. The characters are structures and the story line is HILARIOUS. Although it is mainly an anime aimed at teenage girls. Its still a great anime to try.

To be only 50(or so) episodes, the character and plot development is pretty good. I love the animation. The villains are very interesting and well defined as well. While I wish more had happened between two certain villians and Saya, I was satisfied overall with the ending. If you watch through the credits at the end of the last episode you will not be left with such a "cliffhanger" effect with the series ending.

My favorite anime series. By a looong shot. Takes you 3-4 episodes to get started, but once it gets going its going to pull you to the end and leave you wishing for more. Good series, good start, good midway, great ending. Woop woop!

This series was AWEFUL! I couldn't wait to finish it. The way it was drawn to the poor voice over. There were so many plot holes with this one.

For a less than 60 episode anime, Blood+ hands down has the best character development of any anime out there. It draws you in and gets you attached to the characters so well. Definitely should be rated higher than ones like Naruto and bleach.

Totally amazing, should be higher! The characters might be annoying at times but the fighting is kick ass and realistic. The story is also really good and the badguys are just hilariously good, though quite phsyco (Sp?) its one ofmy top ten for sure!

sailor moon was the beginning of magical girls-fight-evil storyline, and it is the mother of them, it is not the best, and it took me almost a year to finish all 200 episodes, 3 movies and specials, but this is what got me into anime. BTW new sailor moon anime in summer 2013!

It's a classic yes. But so is power rangers. They're both terrible now. So much better anime now. Please take this off the list. They drew about 10 minutes worth the show. The rest of it is reused animations they had since the very beginning. Lazy artists. LAZY!

Another classic, it’s quite old so the animation is not the best. Otherwise it's awesome, the characters are more important that the plot for this series.

too bad no good basketball mangas are being made into anime. . . ie. buzzer beater and basquash are trash. This anime definitely set the tone for basketball anime. If you like sports and determination with a bit of romantic comedy this is for you.

I really wanted to like this anime, it sounds so awesome. I saw the first 20 episodes and just couldn't get into it - it tries to be realistic, but does a terrible job. And Oh My God is it slow! 20 episodes and barely anything happened!

It should be on the 1st place not so down. An anime at least with a great story and absolutely realistic.And its seinen so not 13+ but 18+.Kids would find it boring without fighting scenes.But its full of fight---the fight is in the mind.The best psychological thriller i have ever seen,

Great storyline made by master Naoki Urasawa, the very same guy that made 20th Century Boys and Master Keaton. If you're not very fond of anime, then read the manga. A must watch.

Very good anime with lots of revelation and "plot twists" i would recommend to adults and young adults who like thrillers. Very well built characters.

P.S= I do consider Death note to be my 2nd best anime (only season 1), and Code Geass as my 3rd greatest (both seasons). P.S= This is an additonal comment, to the one posted above this.

Not a childish anime (as they wouldn't understand), barly any foul language. Superb Anime, Its a deffinte watch, It definitely beats Code Geass and Death note from an adults perspective. I mean Code Geass/ Death note for under 18s then yeah, they will like that for sure. This anime suited for 18+ who will definitely like this, and consider to be their number 1 anime!!! NO NUDITY!!! Its reception is superb, wining many awards and is an anime consisting of 74 episodes. Many, many people love this anime, as it is a work of genius. Give the first 15 episodes a try, if you still don't like it then you can stop. Recommended for 13 years+. This is because this story line, younger children may not understand, so they won't be able to fully grasp the excellence of this anime (contains violence as well, including blood, but no foul language).

I loved this anime but 4 some reason i could only watch 75 episodes i got p..... off at the last episode it was him vs rocky. It made me so made i sat in front of my cump 4 hours. This is the ending i got. i mean what happened to ippo and kumi. Come on that ending sucked.

My fave anime ever. I agree that it's like cowboy beebop, but much lighter. It also has some of the most bad ass female characters ever. (Hilda and Twilight Sasuka). Great story, great characters, and great action. Everything I want in an anime.

Better than Cowboy Bebop

This is my favorite series because it had an epic story, great characters, an air of mystery about it that was actually resolved in the end (unlike many others) and the pacing was really good. I personally think it's better than cowboy bebop. The show has more depth, in my opinion, and is completely underrated.

this was a really good anime if I say so myself. It's about a game called "The World" and there is one character that's stuck in the game and has no memories of his past and the world basically becomes his reality and charges in with his friends on a quest to save him from his treacherous fate trying to find a item in the game that overwrites the game data called "The Twilight Bracelet" with the possible power to free him of this fate. In this story there is also a character named aura who is on a bed for most of the season. I have to say that this anime has been implanted into my brain. I give it 10 Woopy Goldbergs XD

really strange, i remember watching this on TV and each episode was different from the previous. Well Its about this game that people can go into (like the matrix) except the main characters mind is permanently stuck in the game somehow? I don't know really, only watched like 7-9 episodes. Please someone clarify.
