I am a Pole. We have good soldiers, but the whole army rather sucks :( It's not very well equipped - our allies from NATO sometimes give us something they don't need - e.g. Germany gave us old tanks recently Poles have war in their blood - it is a result of history - living BETWEEN GERMANY AND RUSSIA had significant conseqences :) When you have a look on our history, you'll see that Poles fought almost everywhere - together with Napoleon, in battle of Britain. One Pole had even became an American general - T. Kosciuszko . Look at Battle of Mont Cassino during WW2 - there were four waves of attacks in different periods: I - Americans = lost II - New Zeland + Indians = lost III - Indians + New Zelands + Englishmen = lost IV - Poles = CONQERED Monte Cassino :)

By 2014 Afghanistan will have a 600,000 strong National Army which is under training of NATO and US forces and will be well equipped by NATO and US. And will have a strong Air Force. This Army will defend Afghan borders and will not let Afghanistan to become a safe haven for terrorist groups.

The Afghan armies throughout the history have always proven that they are the best warriors and no superpower in the world could stay here longer... You can take the Red army/Soviet Union army as an example, they were defeated to death, And i am sure if any nation of this world dare to invade this nest of eagles will have the same fate.

It is going to be a braver army than Pakistani army. because Afghan National Army has never surrendered in groups, but the Paki army has a worst reputition. The Taliban have surrendered more than three hundred of Paki army at once. The ANA is under NATO and US forces training and soon will be around 600,000.

One of the most strong and skilled armies in the world were the Wehrmacht, founded the base of modern warfare and its tactics in a very big part. (Me 262, MG 42, V2 and the famous and feard Tiger tank) to mention just a few. They clashed with to many enemies, so they got asskicked unfortunately, if we talk about their skills, not aims or politicial **** they fought for. They had just a little navy compared to the japs or brits, but on the battlefield 1 by 1 with infantry and tanks, they defeated France, and Britains best skilled Expedition Forces in the mainland of Europe, at the same time in one stretch. Before it invaded already Poland, Denmark, Norway, Holland, Luxembourg and Belgium! Today, the new formed Bundeswehr you can't compare in strength after the lost WW2 of course. Still limited in their number and amount by allied treaty 2+4, but their KSK forces might be one of the best trained in the world, also their Leopard 2 row, U-boats and artillery.
