Greatest Inventions of All Time

Wheel is the greatest invention of all time. Its still in use today more than four thousand years ago. Wheel has a hand in everything and most modern inventions today.

Yeah wheel is #1. Try making electricity without a wheel.

This should actually be no. 1. Life without the simple whell is extremely difficult. Without the invention of the wheel, ancient times would have been at a standstill, and we wouldn't exist!

Can we please change this to "man-made" inventions? I'm a follower of Christ, but the so-called "Christians" on here are posting ridiculously and when looking into their comments, condescendingly.

It was discovery of electricity,not invention....In my frame,wheelz s greatest invention ever made by humans.

Ben Franklin didn't invent electricity. He didn't discover it either. He discovered that lightening was electricity. This invention should probably be Michael Faraday and the electric motor. One of the first uses of electricity.

according to me the best invention in this world is nature ,because without nature nothing would be possible. so i believe god has made nature human just use it .

Perhpas the simplification of saying electricity was invented rubs some the wrong way. However i believe you are all intelligent enough to realize this is a broad generalization for so many inventions to harness this natural occurence that naming one alone would not cover. If i said AC power transformers was the second greatest you all would disagree easily. If i said IC chips were the greatest we would disagree. If i said gate logic was the greatest invention that would be plain stupid. However claiming the field full of inventors who found so many applications is the most sufficient way to say this.

I completely disagree with this one. First off, electricity is not an invention, electricity has been known and been around for thousands of years. electricity has only been recently been harness and controlled, which is not the same thing as inventing. Its like saying Fire was invented. No one invented fire, its been around for a long time, just been harness and controlled a lot longer than electricity.

What makes antibiotics so special is that it probably saved the lives of future inventors. Many other inventions are/were inevitable but antibiotics were an accident.

End of hunting/gathering people stop moving, villages and towns form, foods like rice and wheat dominate, population grows, animals domesticated, job specialisation develops, more disease as people live closer, need to protect food from those who don't have it therefore defence of towns and wars etc etc

C'mon. Where would we be without paper? Science, math, toilets, literature, etc. all used paper as a medium to inform and inspire the general public. Books, magazines, pamphlets, etc. we see them everyday. Where would we be without it.

Air conditioning and refridgeration are two very different things. Air conditioning porvides comfort. Refridgeration provides safe to eat food which is actually necessary for human survival.

Television should be a lot higher up on this list. Without TV, you would not have the Computer #4, Internet #5, Video Games #17. Computers would still be printing on paper cards if it weren't for TV. GUI was invented to be used for TV and without GUI you wouldn't have the Internet or Video Games.
