These giant woolly oxen with massive horns have been under governmental protection since 1917. The muskox uses its giant head to break the snow crust when it is too hard to paw.

Living in tunnels under the snow, Arctic Lemmings are an important food source for Arctic Foxes, Wolverines and Ermine. Lemming populations go through cyclical declines every 3 to 4 years.
