Did people's legs get cold a lot in the 80s? Did we not possess the leg heating technology that we have today? Totally pointless, but cute nonetheless, if you were a girl in the 80s and you had legs, you also had leg warmers.

The 80s loved mini skirts and I have to say this is a fashion I can get behind, as long as you're trim enough to pull it off. The 80s was all about super short skirts of any material, often work over brightly colored tights or leggings. This is an 80s fad I welcome back with open arms ... mostly because I look good in skirts.

The idea here is that you bought an oversized shirt, and then you used a special clip to tighten the shirt at your side, giving the illusion that you have actually purchased a fitted shirt. If you were in a bind, you could also tie a knot in the side of the shirt and achieve the same effect. OR, you could buy a shirt that fit in the first place.

These were so cool. And you had to be very thoughtful when picking out which color you bought because the color of your member's only jacket said a lot about who you were. I picked dark brown, because I wanted to appear tough like I was wearing a leather motorcycle jacket or something.
5.
Never in my life have I looked in the mirror and thought, "you know what would make me look more attractive? Gigantic football player-like shoulders!" Seriously, who thought this was a good idea? And it seemed as though the bigger you could make your shoulders the better. Maybe it was a hold-over from the women's lib movement? I don't know, but I'm glad this trend has never come back.
6.
Yeah, these looked cool in the film Flashdance, but when you actually had to wear one it was kind of annoying that it was always falling off your shoulders.
7.
What was great about the fingerless gloves of the 80s was that usually they were made of lace or some other flimsy material that provided absolutely no warmth.
8.
What I liked about this trend was that not only women could get on board. Even macho men like Mr. T could rock some huge oversized earrings.

These plastic sandals were:
1. uncomfortable, as they were made out of plastic
2. ill-fitting
3. very very noisy, as they made weird squishy sounds when you walked
