Kathleen Turner plays the successful romance novelist Joan Wilder who winds up traveling to Colombia in search of her sister who has been kidnapped. Enter in romantic lead Jack Colton, played by Michael Douglas, who is an adventurer of questionable morals.

This film follows the lives of a group of British friends who seem to get invited to a heck of a lot of weddings. Charles, played by a young slightly geeky Hugh Grant, has fallen in love with American beauty Carrie, played by Andie McDowell. But of course it's never as easy as that, the two have many roadblocks getting in the way of their potential relationship.

There's nothing better than an 80s movie with a completely implausible plot line ... Tom Hanks falls in love with a mermaid. Classic.

This movie is so underrated. Mike Myers is hilarious as always ... he has fallen in love with Harriet who just seems a little too perfect. Based on an article his mother recently read in a supermarket tabloid, Myers' character becomes obsessed with the idea that Harriet might in fact be a serial killer.

Julia Roberts plays Julianne who will do anything to stop her best friend, Michael, from marrying his fiance. Much hilarious chaos and attempts and sabotage ensue.

A completely different movie from Kevin Smith, this romantic comedy was actually pretty ground-breaking as the lead character develops a crush on a girl only to find out she is a lesbian. Or is she?

Cher stars in this offbeat comedy, playing an Italian-American widow in her late 30s. After being proposed to by Johnny (Danny Aiello), is instructed to find his brother Ronny (Nicolas Cage), because Johnny needs to go to Italy to see his dying mother. Although she tries to fight it, Cher's character develops feelings for Ronny, and then must choose between the brothers.
