Book 'em, Dano. This was a classic show, with great characters and even better storylines and scenery. McGarrett was the precursor (and not nearly as obnoxious) to Horatio from CSI Miami.

Flashpoint is about an elite tactical unit, called the Strategic Response Unit (SRU), within a Canadian metropolitan police force (styled on the Toronto Police Emergency Task Force[3]). The SRU are tasked to resolve extreme situations that regular officers are not trained to handle including hostage-taking, bomb threats and heavily armed criminals. Equipped with high-tech tools and a cache of weapons and explosives, members use negotiation tactics and intuition to try to avoid the use of force. When the SRU shows up they're in charge, no regular cop can tell them what to do. The team has a Sergent named Gregory Parker and a team leader and team co-leader Ed Laine and Jules Callaghan.

The series follows officers of the Chicago Police Department as they fight crime on the streets and try to expose political corruption within the city. Veteran Chicago Police Detective Jarek Wysocki leads the special unit against fighting the corruption. Wysocki was assigned to head the special unit by his boss the newly appointed first-female Chicago Police Superintendent and his one time partner, Teresa Colvin. Also on the unit is Caleb Evers, a young detective and Wysocki's latest partner. During their investigations the detectives often encounter police officers Vonda Wysocki (Jarek's niece) and Vonda's partner Isaac Joiner. Undercover officer Liam Hennessey works the streets as he gets information on the Irish mob and their connection to the corruption. Believed source of the corruption is Alderman Ronin Gibbons, a powerful and influential politician in Chicago.

I can watch this show back to back for hours and never get bored. The characters are gritty and the storylines "ripped from the headlines" are totally riveting.

Riveting every time, this show has brought a scienc that was virtually unknown to most of us and made it commonplace and a topic of conversation. The writing is fantastic, and the characters (though not as strong recently) are great to get to know.

The first and last (so far) police show all about motorcycle cops, this was a unique look at a very special police force.
