I agree the inland taipen is the worlds deadliest snake and very well be 1 of the of the worlds most deadliest animals cuz of its high toxins
Added 8 months ago by guest, 1 point Vote + to improve this comment's ranking Vote - to decrease this comment's ranking
I disagree, the Inland Taipan would have to be the most venomous, I went onto Animal Planet's website and found out the Inland Taipan is the most deadliest. Now, who would you believe more of? Some person that could be making a list based off their own opinions, or a Tv show that gives you real facts about an animal. Plus, Cobra's would be easy to identify, based off their size. But, if you were to be walking through a grassland, jungle, or desert. What snake would you have an easier time noticing, a Gaboon viper (which should be on the top 10) or a Cobra? You would have an easier time noticing the Cobra and would be able to get away, but with a Gaboon Viper, you would be dead before you know it. But the Cobra is definetly in the top 10, just not #1

Black Mamba Report Abuse
Perhaps the most feared snake, if not the most dangerous, the Black Mamba is highly venomous and can reach 14 feet in length. They are known to live in close proximity to humans in Africa, and are very aggressive. While some snakes may be more venomous, the Mamba has had the most encounters with humans and thus pose a greater threat.

black mambas are the most dangerous not because of how potent their venom is but because the are so fast and will readily strike and like i said before, they will not stop striking until the victim is dead.
Added 1 year ago by guest, 2 points Vote + to improve this comment's ranking Vote - to decrease this comment's ranking
these snakes are territorial and extremely aggressive. the venom yield is 100-400 mg of neurotoxic and cardiotoxic venom, 10-15 mg of these are fatal to humans. once bitten, the victim will be fully conscious but paralyzed completely and after 7-15 hours, will die of respiratory failure. These snakes are one of the few (the mambas) that will repeatedly strike the victim until it is dead. they are also tough, when we caught one on our game farm, it took my dad 4 shots to the snakes head and neck with a .270 lead composite bullet to kill it and after it was dead, we poked it with a wooden stake and it used the last of its life to bite the stake strong enough to make clear marks with its fangs. these snakes are also very fast, travelling as fast as a galloping horse. they usually get to 2.5 meters but can easily reach 4.5 meters. when these snakes make a home, they have to be killed.

Inland Taipan Report Abuse
Native to Australia, these rare snakes have the most poisonous venom in the world. A single bite allegedly has enough venom to kill 100 people.
197 points - added 3 years ago by pxc0 - 3 comments
Comments:
Don't kid youself! The Inland Taipan also known as the Western Taipan, are large aggressive and very fast moving snakes. They grow to well over 2 meters. They are highly venomous and will attack without the slighest provacation. The only reason that very few human fatalities have occured, is because the inland of Australia is far less densely populated in comparision to the costal regions of Australia. While working at a stock camp in Western QueensIand, I witnessed a Western Taipan bite a full grown horse, and the horse was stone dead in 10 minutes!

Um dude I would just like to point out that there is no such thing as a poisonous snake. Poison is different than venom which is what snakes carry. There are very distinct differences. Snakes are venomous NOT poisonous. Get it right next time. kthx.

puff adders are dangerous because people generally either step on them or think they are dead and pick them up when they are sleeping on the roads

these are nasty little snakes whose fangs fold when their mouths are closed. they have been diet includes rodents, birds, other snakes and even sometimes tortoises. very good camouflage coupled with the habit of sleeping on roads at night often results in them being killed. they have been known to fake death and when an unsuspecting person touches them, strikes. they have large fangs that inject the venom deep in the body. they inject 100-130 mg of venom, 100 mg is fatal to humans. death usually caused by complications from excessive swelling and fluid lose caused by cytotoxic venom. they grow to a max of 120 cm.

Russell’s Viper Report Abuse
11 points - added 3 years ago by pxc0 - 3 comments
Comments:
they may have potent venom but how aggresive are they. 2 different things, a snake like a black mamba is dangerous for the reasons i mentioned earlier. but this one may have the most potent venom but not be fairly shy. the green mamba has fairly potent venom but will only strike when cornered and as a very last resort, so bites are uncommon so they are not considered too dangerous. a rock python has no venom but can crush and eat crocodiles and humans and have fang-like teeth in 2 rows big enough to cause serious and sometimes lethal bites with no venom

Death Adder Report Abuse
9 points - added 3 years ago by pxc0 - 1 comment
Comments:
The Australian Death Adder is a highly venomous, and very dangerous snake. It has a large, almost triangular head, a stout body, with a thin rat-like tail ending in a curved soft spine with the tail tip being either cream coloured or black. (Death Adders look not unlike American Rattle snakes - without the tail rattle to sound an alarm!) Death Adders are masters at camouflage and vary in coulour according to their surroundings. They are usually found with contrasting coloured cross-bands. Due to the Death Adders shape and colouration it may be easily mistaken as an Australian 'blue-tongued lizard' or any one of the larger ground dwelling skinks or lizards (and vice-versa). As an ambush type snake, during the day Death Adders can be found semi buried in sand, soil or leaves, often at the base of a tree. When disturbed a Death Adder will remain where they are and rely on its camouflage for protection, resorting to a very hard and lightening-fast strike when the threat becomes to great! Death Adders feed on reptiles, mammals and birds. It attracts its prey by using its thin tail as a lure. The average size of a Death Adder is 40cm with a maximum length of 1m.

Comments:
boomslang is afrikaans for "tree snake". they are dangerous but shy. they have excellent vision which they use to pursue prey. they inject a 1 mg of haemotoxin that prevents blood from clotting much like rat poison, this makes the victim bleed to death. they have different colouration phases throughout their life and get to a max of 200 cm. not nearly as exciting as the black mamba, my dad only needed a shovel to hack one in half.
