A close second, this monster made people afraid to swim in the ocean for decades. Amazingly, the actual shark is barely seen in the first film, which may add to the tension and sense of dread.

The King of Monsters as far as I'm concerned. He's cool, a cultural icon and as an actual monster few in the movies can deal as much damage at a single sitting.

This is an old one, from the 1922 film Nosferatu. There something about the creepy makeup and the old film stock that make this character seem hauntingly real. I also like how this vampire is little more than a deformed animal and not a suave, gorgeous aristocrat.

As far as the monsters from Slasher films go, Mike Myers was always my favorite. He had the coolest backstory (an insane, inherently evil child is locked away after murdering his family for no reason), a creepy look which James T. Kirk mask and I loved how he would never talk and always walked everywhere.

This is a classic monster that has it all: He's big, he's wicked, and he's full of bugs.
