Bowser Report Abuse
Everyone's favorite turtle... dragon... thing. It may be unclear as to what he is, but his motivations are very clear. He wants to take over the Mushroom Kingdom, take Princess Peach, and beat his archnemesis, Mario! They occasionally have to team up, but make no mistake. Bowser hates Mario, and he's always coming up with new plans (some of which are rather silly) to defeat him.

He's not as villainous as the likes of Vladimir Makarov or Carlo Falcone.

Ganondorf/Ganon Report Abuse
The main villain of the Legend of Zelda franchise. People who have played the earlier versions may be more familiar with his pig form, but it's his human form that really makes him frightening. A man who desires power above all else, his quest for the Triforce placed him directly in the path of Link's destiny. These two foes are locked in an endless struggle, and Ganondorf always manages to come up with some diabolical plan to try and thwart his foe.

What are those things doing here ? Look, Pacman was a memorable game, but it's characters don't deserve to stand among the greatest characters/villains of all time.

Sephiroth Report Abuse
The main villain of Final Fantasy VII, this sword-wielding maniac actually manages to kill a main character in one of the biggest plot twists in video game history. He's extremely powerful and totally nuts, driven insane by the truth of his origin. His will is so great that it even manages to bend an alien superbeing to it. His plan? Just to hurl a giant meteor into the earth and use the energy that seeps into the wound to become a god. Yeah, he's pretty scary. Plus, One-Winged Angel is just about the best villain theme song ever.

Kefka Palazzo Report Abuse
42 points - added 14 years ago by ArtofWar11 - 2 comments
Comments:
How is Kefka below Sephiroth? He's the most evil character ever conceived, and he proves that a villain doesn't need a backstory in order to be entertaining or successful. He destroyed the entire world, created a tower, made Celes kill herself, killed general Leo, poisoned Doma, decimated the entire esper species and... DAMN, everytime i hear that laugh i just wanna punch a baby right in the face. He's the most hated - and loved - video game villain of all time. Plus, Dancing Mad is the best final boss theme of all time, and the most complex game composition. Just pure genius!

Kefka is the only Final Fantasy villain to ACTUALLY win and achieve godhood. He deserves a higher ranking than Sephiroth.

Dark Link Report Abuse
Dark Link is a recurring antagonist in the Legend of Zelda series. It seems to serve as a doppelgänger of Link. Dark Link appears in many games; it is uncertain if this is one, single entity or if each game has its own, individual Dark Link, but it is suggested that the same being appears in several games. It is also unclear if Dark Link serves any one master or fights on his own accord. Multiple Dark Links have been known to exist at the same time, all of which seem to be separate entities rather than the iconic villain. Some Dark Links have the ability to perform any offensive move Link has at his disposal.

Frank Horrigan (Fallout 2) Report Abuse
Hmm... massive 12-foot super mutant with two swords, each about 7 foot, and a fully automatic plasma gun, AND armor that can just about deflect a sniper rifle, AND the fact he sounds like God... plus the fact he's so cool he dies by getting cut in half, his helmet crumpling, then a 30-second speech... THEN his head explodes? Nah, not such a big deal. (wink wink)

Dracula Report Abuse
That persistent vampire from the Castlevania series. He is quite literally tied to the darkness in people's hearts, as he resurrects so long as people harbor hatred and other terrible emotions. He is extremely powerful and very well dressed, and anyone who has ever played Castlevania has likely had to take on this lord of darkness.

Osmund Saddler Report Abuse
He's the deranged leader of a cult group full of parsite infected Spanish people whose plans of world domination take him a little out of his mind. His plan starts with the kidnapping of the president's daughter (and God bless him for it) and ultimately he does almost turn our main hero Leon into a mindless homicidal maniac. With his purple cloak, tentcally staff, and large spider body hidden insdide of him, Saddler is deadly with a touch of European galore.

Sarah Kerrigan Report Abuse
In her own words, she's "pretty much the Queen Bitch of the universe." She went from being a good guy to being one of the most frightening villains of all, a lady of the Zerg with massive psychic powers and a hunger to control. She's highly manipulative, and she manages to weasel her way into leadership of the Swarm. Now, she's basically in charge of everything, and no one can really stop her. Here's to a villain who can actually be successful!

Malefor Report Abuse
The suspense built through Spyro's long rise to glory held a sort of "Jaws" vibe to the whole thing. A New Beginning: Who is the Dark Master? What's he Capable of? The Eternal Night: When's he returning, What does he look like? Is he that powerful? Dawn of the Dragon: Oh...My...God. The true fans of the Spyro franchise were not disappointed. Master of All Elements, has the power to taint souls and make soldiers and cities by looking at the ground with hate, and though Mark Hamill's voice was a little too deep, he didn't disappoint on; intimidation, power and perfect timing to enter the series for the first and last time.
