Prince Report Abuse
Known for his quirky style, Prince was one of the greatest artists of the 1980's. With his songs such as Purple Rain and Little Red Corvette, he knew how to rock the crowd.

Comments:
The sound of the 80's was Prince, rock and roll and hip- hop, in that order. The music critics of the 1980's named Prince the #1 artest of the decade with Madonna at #2 and micheal Jackson at #3.

Madonna Report Abuse
Madonna has been an icon for some time now, although I believe she was hottest in the 1980's. With songs like Crazy for You and Like a Virgin, she shot straight to the tops of all the charts.

Elton John sang some of the greatest dramatic songs of the times. Everyone was sure to turn the radio up when one of his songs came on. His play on the piano is extraordinary.
