This is literally true. The sun can be shining. A thunderstorm can come through swiftly that lasts just a few minutes and then the sun the sun is shining again.

Summer temperatures are usually in the 80s, but sometimes make it into the 90s and occasionally over 100. Humidity levels tend to be very high, making things very uncomfortable without air conditioning.

Winters tend to have much cold weather, usually below freezing temperature and sometimes even subzero temperatures. Snow is very common, often very deep snow.

Well, true in rural areas. Electricity often goes out with slight breezes, leaving people either freezing, or dealing with hot, humid weather.
