His well-known films are The Ten Commandments (1956), Cleopatra (1934), and The Greatest Show on Earth (1952), which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. The Golden Globe awards created the Cecile DeMille Award in honor to late director. It is given as a lifetime achievement award to deserving professionals in the movie industry with exemplary performance.
