Dean Martin became my idol during my early childhood and he still remains today. No one ever accomplished as much as he did in the entertainment industry, and no one else will ever come close to achieving his pinnacle of success. His talent had no limits. Whether it was in the recording studio, the sliver screen, television or a Vegas show room, he was the ruler of his domain.Even on stage with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Junior, it's Dean you can't take your eyes off.

Dean Martin was the King of Cool. He just had natural style in whatever he did. I loved his TV show but most of all, I loved his singing. No one was as smooth and relaxing as Dino.

Well, I'm a twenty-something chick, and I love Dean Martin. Dino is as "big" now with my generation as he was in his heyday. It's amazing, you can hear him almost everywhere. He's a timeless, classic singer and entertainer. He now personifies the "essence of cool" for many. He truly has crossed over into "cultural immortality", and deservedly so. The Beatles and Stones are so passe.

Dean Martin was truly the "King of All Media". He recorded 1,000+ songs and had MANY gold records, made 60+ movies, had a top-ten TV show from 1965-1974, another highly rated TV show from 1975-1984 (the celebrity "roasts"), was the "biggest" and highest paid performer in Vegas during his heyday, and was part of the most successful comedy team in history ("Martin & Lewis") from 1946-1956. He was highly successful in everything he did, and he became incredibly wealthy as a result. No other performer could (or can) come close to his success. He was, and still is, loved here in the US and around the world. Dean Martin could do it all, and did. He was a "megastar".

Without question its Elvis. With Elvis music changes forever. With Elvis, popular culture changes forever. Elvis started the revolution that fueled the 1960's rebellion and all the music that comes after. Elvis is the highest selling solo artist of all time. Elvis was the biggest movie star of the 1960s. Elvis sold out every night in Vegas and around the country during the 70s. Did over a thousand shows in this period. He had "the voice" and could sing anything. He had the looks, the hair, the moves and charisma. There will never be another. He has no equal.

Granted Johnny Carson was the highly-successful host of "The Tonight Show". But, that's it. Sure, he could do a little bit of everything, but only within the format of that show. Should he be #2 or even in the Top-5 greatest entertainers? I rather doubt it. Dean Martin will live on through his recordings, movies, and TV shows. I'm afraid that future generations will forget about Johnny. He was, like most entertainers, too "one-dimensional". But, he was good at what he did, when he did it, within the format of that TV show.

If we are talking about all round entertainers (rather than just actors, singer etc), Judy should be well up the list. She was of course an iconic film star in probably the most viewed film in history. In addition, she was an Oscar winning (juvenile) and twice further nominated actress. She was and award winning concert artist, a commendable dancer, a legendary concert performer and a natural comedienne. Just look at the books being published about her (still) and the plays being written about her. The legend lives on!

she should be far above Streisand, Shore,Clark, Houston and the supremes. Really she is a LEGEND. one that everyone knows, at least indirectly through her songs. She is an inspiration for a lot of today's singers and no one reaches her qualities, because recent singers are all edited in voice improving programs. Judy is NATURAL! And by far one of the best singers, actrices, tv stars and enterainers of ALL TIME!!!
