Half the fun is learning to play, the other half comes when you actually start to master it and you're surprising your friends, or more importantly, surprising yourself.

Volunteer as a Little League Umpire. Report Abuse
When you do this, don't just do it once and quit. Do it for a few games so you get to experience what Little League Umpires go through. Get hit by a pitch, get yelled at by and angry fan or coach, and call a kid out on strikes and watch him walk back to the dugout crying. Then look up at the Umpire pumping his fist for his strikeout. It gives you a new perspective on not just baseball, but all sports.
