I think Sandra Bullock's Oscar speaks for this one. This movie is funny, and motivating, and inspiring, and captivating. I love movies that make me both laugh and cry. And Sandra Bullock is truly remarkable.

The Hurt Locker
This will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the best war movies ever made. It is shot almost like a documentary and takes place in Iraq, which is something that the nation can relate to today. The best part is, it was directed by a woman, which is totally unexpected when it comes to epic war movies.

Star Trek
Usually remakes are far inferior to originals, but JJ Abrams really delivers on this one. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto are the Kirk and Spock of the present, and are both relate-able and respectable in their roles. This movie is entertaining, fun to watch, has a good plot, and has amazing special effects.

500 Days of Summer
Not the typical romantic comedy, because most romantic comedies have to do with the girl getting screwed over by the guy, the guy is a jerk, and the girl moves on to find the most amazing guy possible. Well in this one, the girl is the jerk. And you will hate her, as much as you want to love her.

One of the most smartly funny movies I have ever seen. This movie manages to combine gross-out humor, inappropriate frat-boy humor, intelligence, and sarcasm and be absolutely hilarious. I can't wait until the second one comes out.
