20 Best Movies of 2002

This movie is so fun. Many people have preconceived notions about superheroes as guys who are tough and can stop moving cars with their bare hands. Tobey Maguire plays Peter Parker exactly as he should. He is a nerdy guy who just happens to wake up one day after being bit by a radioactive spider and can suddenly shoot webs from his wrists and climb up walls and he is seriously amazed by all of it. Such a great movie with an unlikely superhero.

Jennifer Aniston basically never does a serious movie, and this one is haunting to the point that you have to sit and think about it after you're done watching. It is almost painful to see. Jake Gyllenhaal rips your heart out as a depressed kid made worse by a married women who wants to love him but can't leave her husband. Fantastic movie.

One of 2 RomComs in my top 5. This is almost unheard of, but both movies are so good and hilarious. Reese Witherspoon is the co-queen of romantic comedies (sharing the title with Jennifer Aniston, of course), and this movie makes me love her more than ever.

Yes this is a romantic comedy, but it is way more of a comedy than a romance. This movie is inappropriate and quirky and I will never get sick of watching it. The trio of Christina Applegate, Cameron Diaz, and Selma Blair, is hilarious.

Nicholas Sparks always hits a home run and this one is no exception. Mandy Moore and Shane West have a whirlwind romance that ends far too soon and forever changes both of them. Such an emotional film.
