Danny Boyle's truly moving picture based on the harrowing true story of Aron Ralston is by far the highlight of 2010 cinema, which, despite the infamous, gruesome amputation, left me feeling strangely inspired and uplifted. Truly an exemplary piece of American film-making.

It isn't often that a movie truly lives up to all of its hype, but this Christopher Nolan film delivers everything it promises. The premise is extremely clever, the special effects are amazing to watch, and the twists and turns in the plot, especially the much-debated ambiguous ending, leave you thinking about the movie long after the film is over. This movie is the real deal. I hope it wins tons of awards because it was truly a joy to watch,

This film, based on a popular video game, was completely underrated. Michael Cera's character must defeat seven "evil exes" in order to begin a relationship with his new crush. This movie is SO clever, with witty line after line, humorously criticizing hipster culture. Excellent action sequences and a sweet romantic plot line make this movie extremely entertaining.

This intellectual crime drama from Argentina is nothing short of a masterpiece, and even won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film. The film follows a retired court investigator who revisits a 25-year-old unresolved murder case in hopes of writing a novel based on the horrific crime. At first glance it seems like a typical police procedural movie, but in fact it's a stunning examination of human emotions: love, fear, lonliness, yearning, hate, and revenge.

I loves me some Harry Potter, and this film is easily the best of the series. While it is a more slow paced film than the others, I think they have finally found the right pacing in order to include all of the important details that make the books so amazing. The actors have really come into their own, delivery truly emotional performances. The opening sequence in which Hermione casts a spell on her parents erases all memories that they have of her is truly heart-wrenching. I can't wait until July to see part 2.

This movie was totally underrated. It is easily one of the best children's films I've seen in a long time. Unlike other kids movies, it doesn't rely on silly jokes or cliche plot points. This heart-warming tale of a young boy who befriends a dragon is actually quite clever and well-written, never talking down to it's juvenile audience. And the flying sequences are nothing short of spectacular.
