i hold Indians (if such a term is acceptable, now it's all African/American, ect..) in great respect and i vote Andrew Jackson worst president (economic policy wasn't bad though)for defying congress while disrupting the balance of power with military force establishing his absolute rule and therefore tarnishing our great nation's sovereignty, breaking peace treaties held up by the other side in that area( Florida the exception), and commiting genocide. but you can not call all of these genocide as as we threw the first punch back in 1670 punches on both sides were thrown and indians many a time fought against each other (A.K.A. the French-Indian wars with Iroquois). also war is war and i believe only peacetime kills and indians counter attacks after broken treaties count. also Indians (as all tribal societies/ nomads did) slaughtered each other in war time but since not on mass and killing efficient scale damage was far less. also if you want to veer off of 20th century look at every civilization pre dark ages (genocide was acceptable throughout history(eg. romans in punic wars and many other times, jewish conquest of holy land(Cristian but still genocide even if commanded by God)) but perceptions and moral standards have changed exponentially in past century or so(exceptions include Militarist Japan, multiple "communist" countries all countries that were moral nihilist.)).
How come you forgot SPAIN? they killed way more than anyone else combined!

Turkey is a criminal state that remains as barbarian and unapologetic to this very day.
Greeks were killed while trying to invade asia minor. I think self defense is not murder. Or is it?
why should this be so high go down the list and look at number of people killed in other Genocides. Don't bring your emotions in the ranking. This ranking should be done strictly based on number of people who died/were killed
Yes, historians say so, but the Turks still deny it. Everybody in Turkey who says so, is punished and legally persecuted. That is why Turkey is not fit for the EU

The result of agreements at Tehran, Casablanca & Yalta was the expulsion of roughly 16 million Germans from their ancestral homes in order to shift the Soviet Union toward the West. It is estimated that 1.2 million people died in the process. Roosevelt agreed to the clearing of one third of Germany as long as it was done 'humanely'. The Nazis also claimed such humane resettlement on paper.
Comments:
Lately historians speak of 2 Million German women raped by Russian soldiers. Almost incredible, but said to be based on material. This is a massace in itself. Against this stand 2 Million (0r more) russian soldiers perished in German custody as prisoners of war.

3 million people died from starvation and malnutrition due to man made famine. British army stored all grains in anticipation of Japanese invasion and exported food to allied forces in Middle east and Europe while local population starved. Amartya Sen (a Bengali) won Noble price in economics for welfare economics based on researching this famine, argues that there are no famines in democracy. He also pointed out that rice production in Bengal was higher in 1942 and 1943 vs. 1941 when there was no famine. Since Indian independance while India remains a poor country with wide-spread malnutrition there have been no famines vs. 25 major famines under British rule in India in which approx. 30-40 million Indians died

Men, Women, and Children were massacred. Most women were raped, that is why it is known as the Rape of Nanking. China's capital was Nanking at that time or the Chinese pronunciation "Nanjing". There were also killing contests between Japanese soldiers of who can first kill 100 people with a sword. The Nanking Massacre was authorized by the Japanese Emperor Hirohito himself, whom the Japanese protect him. The Japanese government currently deny this event because it is too horrible and disgusting for them to admit. Also, communism in CHina was also caused by Japan, which led to the Korean war, so pretty much you can blame Japan for a lot of things. They killed about 30 million Chinese civilians, and I can argue they caused the deaths of more than 100 million people.

Lenins Cheka chief Felix Dzerzhinsky was responsible for the murdering of up to 250.000 dissidents (Tsarists and other Conservatives, Orthodox priest, liberal Socialists and even some Communists, who are not exactly in line with the Leninist regime).
The Cheka is reported to have practiced bestial torture. Depending on Cheka committees in various cities, the methods included: being skinned alive, scalped, "crowned" with barbed wire, impaled, crucified, hanged, stoned to death, tied to planks and pushed slowly into furnaces or tanks of boiling water, or rolled around naked in internally nail-studded barrels. Chekists reportedly poured water on naked prisoners in the winter-bound streets until they became living ice statues. Others reportedly beheaded their victims by twisting their necks until their heads could be torn off. The Chinese Cheka detachments stationed in Kiev reportedly would attach an iron tube to the torso of a bound victim and insert a rat in the tube closed off with wire netting, while the tube was held over a flame until the rat began gnawing through the victim's guts in an effort to escape. Anton Denikin's investigation discovered corpses whose lungs, throats, and mouths had been packed with earth.

On 22nd October 1993, during a peaceful protest against the Hazratbal siege in Indian administered Kashmir, around 50 civilians were killed and 200 injured by the Indian paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) in Bijbehara, district Anantnag, on the Indian side of Kashmir. The atrocity was committed by the 74 Battalion of BSF, and was initiated and directed by its second most senior officer, Deputy Commandant JK Radola, who fired the first shot in the crowd. Those who lay writhing in pain on ground were shot again to ensure their death. Those who took the injured to hospitals were chased and shot there.

The numbers of people killed rank with your top four or five, but the fact of the creation of the place, and subcamps, to be a cruel as possible to barely living people and to construct barriers to basic life; plus the 20,000 handicapped children and adults who were gassed and burned at the Hartheim Castle (a subcamp of Mauthausen), plus assorted other enemies lists reaching to twice or three times that number deserves to be high on your list.
