This is my favorite russian writer for his realistic characters from his books. Who doesn't hear about Dead Souls, his novel Taras Bulba, the play The Inspector-General, the short story The Overcoat and many other stories.

One of the greatest russian poet, he wrote many romantic poems who celebrate love, dramatic facts and world's satire. I love his masterpieces like poem The Bronze Horseman and the drama The Stone Guest, the inspired poem Ruslan and Lyudmila and his opera,Eugene Onegin.
