ANDY SCOTT - Sweet Report Abuse
Very underrated I'd say. He's written some very good songs for the band in their heyday, and quite the perfectionist when it comes to his musical talent. Some of The Sweet's own penned hits contain spine shivering guitar solos from Mr Scott, most notibly - Spotlight (1973) The original version of Fox on The Run (1975), Action (1975) and Fountain (1978) to name but a few. Credit where credit's due!

Andy Scott's generally rated about right I'd say. Competent but not amazing. Agree Sweet's vocals were what made them better than average.

Over 60 million records sold worldwide. Doesn't seem lame to me. Sweet is one of the Top 10 groups ever and their vocal prowess can't be touched!

Davey Johnstone Report Abuse
Long-time guitarist for Elton John. As a guitarist for a solo artist, has to make his playing fit the song rather than be the star. I could listen to Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding all day, in part because of his playing. Listen to Gotta Get a Meal Ticket, Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, almost anything from Rock of Westies.

ummm, what is underrated about him? he isn't considered a good guitarist because he isn't that good, maybe my ears are broken, but ive never heard anything by him that was the slightest bit impressive

You could be right. I've never noticed him much as a player. He's a huge star, but if he's a good player he might be underrated.

Bruce is incredibly underrated as a rock guitarist. He has more emotive leads, rhythms, and bends than most players on this list. Check out 'Darkness..', and The wild, the Innocent...'

Mike Oldfield Report Abuse
Just listen him playing live Moonlight Shadow, if that lead does not move you into uplifted state than your heart is a rock! First solo is so beautiful and flows like a river from arpeggio, I have never heard someone used full arpeggio in such amazin melodious way, maybe fade out dual harmonic leads from Hotel Cali, but those arpeggios are not full ones. First solo is quite clean and sound make me speachless. Second solo is much more overdriven and on stage he often change guitar; first solo is played by clean sounding fender and second by PRS with humbuckers! Second solo is so powerful and erupts like a volcano, also the scales used in 2nd solo continues in fade out. Not only his leads are so beautifully composed also sound is unique and amazing, you know in few seconds it is MO! He is criminally underrated!

Graham Coxon ( Blur/solo) Report Abuse
Graham is perhaps the most underrated guitarist of the past 30 years. He is known for playing a lot of different styles and his solos and psychedelic style matches with blur's work perfectly. From blur's alt rock sound, Graham's solo stuff feels like he's a classic rock guitarist with heavy songs and short bursting solos. He deserves a lot of respect and regarded as one of the best guitarists of the 90s and 2000s.

Chris Poland - Megadeth Report Abuse
Chris Poland was the reason Peace Sells was amazing, his legato, tone and chromatics give him a sound that i've never heard before, his solos are extremely melodic and exotic, maybe because he was raised playing jazz, that makes this guy one of the most unique shredders out there and he's barely even noticed
