The following list is a list of airlines that located in Canada or US that have no passenger fatalities since 1970. If the airline began operations after 1970, the date beside the name of the airline will indicate the year of operation of the airline.

Initially founded as Inter-Island Airways in 1929, Hawaiian Airlines is the 11th largest commercial airline in the United States. It is also the largest airline to be based in Hawaii.

This airline is included in this list although there was one fatality in its history of operation. On April 28, 1988 Aloha Airlines Flight 243 , a scheduled flight between Hilo and Honolulu in Hawaii suffered extensive damage after an explosive decompression in flight due to metal fatigue because it was operating in a coastal environment, with exposure to salt and humidity. Nevertheless the aircraft was able to land safely at Kahului Airport on Maui. A flight attendant was the sole casualty as she was blown out of the airplane, whereas another 65 passengers and crew were injured. The safe landing of the aircraft with such extensive damage to its fuselage was unprecedented and remains unsurpassed. The airline ceased operation on March 31, 2008. All its operations were transferred to Aloha Air Cargo for cargo flights.

America West is one of the US ten major airlines that is based in Phoenix, Arizona. Today it is a part of US Airways Group.

A regional carrier in association with America West Airlines with a hub at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix, Arizona operated by Mesa Air Group's Mesa Airlines under a code share agreement. Today Mesa Airlines operates for US Airways Express.

Southwest is the largest airline in the world by number of passengers carried per year (as of 2007).[2] Southwest, the 6th largest U.S. airline by revenue,[3] maintains the third-largest passenger fleet of aircraft among all of the world's commercial airlines. A fatality that occurred on Southwest Airlines Flight 1763 on August 11, 2000 was result of excessive force being used to subdue a passenger named Jonathan Burton broke through the cockpit door.
