While hosting an abundance of smaller religious sites, the city of Jerusalem is itself recognized as an important location in three of the world's greatest religions.

i didn't say that Jerusalem is not a holy land!! i said it's a part of the greater holy land in Islam ,, it's what i believe ,, like Buddhist people they have there own holy land , right ! by the way Mecca was always holy since Prophet Abraham it's mentioned i the Old Testament , but listen everybody has his own believe ! because fighting makes no sense , & i dream for a day when we can live in peace together where we put our differences aside & forget about our leaders!

The Kaaba was always important for teh Arabs when they believed in many Gods. Muhammad re-interpreted the site becuase he understood that hze had to unite the arab tribes. It is ironical that others as arabs now also go to the place, only because of tradition. The one and only God is venerated in truth and spirit, not as a black stone.

The Kaaba is the most sacred site in Islam, and plays an important of the pilgrimage required by the faith.
