Give your cat a SAFE collar Report Abuse
There is NO MORE way to be thoughtful for your cat than by giving them a collar that will break free during tension. There are many cat hangings that occur indoors and outdoors because it is extremely difficult to break free from a regular collar. Please give your cat a safety collar. It is the best gift you could ever give them.

Anything that would be dangerous and accessible to a baby, could also threaten the life of your cat. Keep cleaning items, antifreeze and medicines all tucked away in baby-proof cabinets.

Not only is this an inexpensive way to keep your cat happy and engaged, it will also deter them from heading for your furniture. This is a win-win if you ask me.

Make sure you serve food at room temp Report Abuse
Be sure not to store food somewhere where it is above room temperature, as this can cause a degradation in essential enzymes and vitamins. Serving food to cold may cause tooth sensitivity in felines due to the small size of their teeth.

Watch for any significant weight loss or weight gain Report Abuse
Weight gain can be just as significant as weight loss when it comes to cats because a few extra pounds will lower their weight signiicantly. Take them to the vet to have some basic bloodwork done and to find out if a special diet may be required.

Let them be next to you Report Abuse
Even though cats are well-known for having their own minds and wanting their own space much of the time, they really crave being around their favorite human roommates so be sure that they get a lot of opportunities to just be near you. Your cat will thank you.

Food Counts Report Abuse
Make sure you are not over or under indulging your cat with food. Also, check your cats food regularly in case it may be on any recall lists. Keep the food you feed them fairly regular as it is difficult for their stomachs to adjust to changing diets.

Enough said. Keep it clean on a daily basis. I use the automatic litterbox and it works like a dream. Just set it and forget it. You won't have to deal with any smells and it only needs to be cleaned out once a week.
