Totally agree pixie faced condescending and shallow. Her and spoiled brat Jake Sisco were the worst characters in all star trek
Personally, I loved ALL of w different Star Trek shows. They all had flaws! However, every community in the world has flawed people. It seems to me that all of you complainers are looking in the mirror at yourselves. Yes, there were some things I didn't like in every series. But it's a fantasy world. Get over it!
Jadzia was gorgeous. I don't know what you guys are talking about her being ugly. Are you face blind or something? Ezri was quite the opposite, cute, bubbly, very naive, but that's not Nicole's fault. That's obviously how she was written.
Let's face it, this show sucked. At least she's hot, unlike Jadzia (horrible name by the way).
A total poser and an actress unable to remember her lines which is why colm meaney explained most of the technical stuff as the show went on.Also too smug
Her character was OK, though not as strong as Jadzia Dax. The character development certainly experienced what we saw with Seven-Of-Nine on Voyager -- i.e., a new character that joined the series late so the writers had to scramble to bring everyone up to speed on her character background and integrate her into the rest of the casts' stories.
Looks like Ezri is number one because someone spam voted it up somehow. There's no way everyone knows Ezri to vote for her like 8:1 over Wesley... She was in one season of DS9 - this smells of hacking...
I liked Ezri. Maybe I couldn't get over the fact that short brunettes with blue eyes and short hair are my kryptonite - but the classism of Trill society bugged the hell out of me. I liked the idea of a "whoops, the symbiont got put into someone who isn't among the highest echelons of trill society."
They did do a strange awkward presentation of her. She's like the female Reginald Barclay only really attractive. I don't know why everyone hated Ezri - I mostly preferred Jadzia, but it also allowed the writers to explore the transition of a symbiont which never would have happened if Farrel hadn't left the show.
Annoying whiny character, played by an actor who was simply trying too hard. I always thought Morn Dax would've been more interesting!
Terry Farrell (jadzia) is beautiful and mostly likable ( I hated her with Worf) and no way her character was replaced.
As someone commented before, Terry Farrell left the show to do Becker. I saw her say that in a TV interview. And as I remember the DS9 producers were not happy with her leaving. And then Terry was replaced on Becker by Nancy Travis.
Ezri was irritating, no doubt, but no one in the entire Star Trek universe more irritating and worthless than Keiko O'brien.
I never believed she loved the Chief (Colm Meaney was wonderful as Chief O'brien and I'm glad his Character was expanded on DS9) and she was always whining and complaining. I hated her character straight through TNG and even worse on DS9
Keiko O'brien tops the list of the many irritating Star Trek characters.
Jadzia dax lefy the show because she wanted to be on a show called "Becker". Not because producers wanted eye candy... You should really do research before making such stupid assumptions.
In the mid to late 90s, it was not that uncommon for cumbersome producers to replace an unattractive but familiar character with one that fit the 90s definition of hot. Think Sliders adding Kari Wuhrer; or Voyager adding 7 of 9; or Charmed replacing skanky Prue with somewhat improved Paige. Same here, with no disrespect to Jadzia Dax - she was just plain ugly. The show had no female eye candy at all in 1998. Noone channel surfing will stop to watch Kira or Jadzia. Network executives do not like that. So, they get someone who vaguely resembled other attractive television faces of the time, such as Ally McBeal, Mila Kunis on That 70s Show or Buffy, or Jennifer Anniston on Friends, or any other similar hot woman. Jadzia just didn't make the cut, so they came up with an excuse to get rid of her, like the other shows did lock and step with 90s MTV-influenced aesthetics.
Not a replacement for jadzia, but there is no way she should be number 1 on this list.
Why is she # 1? I mean I get people don't like an annoying poor substitute for Jadzia but she's thousands of points ahead of Weslety?! That's a mistake.. While not likable she certainly never inspired the cringes that Wesley, Neelix or even Kira Nerys did..
Doesn't deserve the hate she gets. Some of the things people complain about are what make her such an interesting character. She's a regular person forced to accept this "honor" that she never asked for or even wanted, desperately trying to live up to the expectations of the people who knew Dax before.
lol you're all jealous because she is hotter and a better actor then jadzia. Worst character on DS9 was jake sisko.
All she had to do was stand there and look good! My god, she was the epitome of sexy repressed librarian; remember, she hooked up with Worf for hot violent sex! So much for the "innocence"!
Ezri Dax nearly killed the final season of DS9...annoying scared little twit...totally opposite of strong, confident and wise Jadzia. I thought the trill was supposed to carry over the wisdom and knowledge of past hosts...Season 7 proved that was a bunch of bull!
Yep. Terrible. Should have been in an accident just after Sisko found the orb and they should have lost the Dax symbiote forever.
She ruined the final season of DS9. The actress couldn't act and the character was pointless. She even made Wesley Crusher look awesome
She shouldnt be number one just because we all should know neelix was the worst longest running character on star trek in general..Neelix was ten times more annoying than wesley or ezri ..The only time I liked him was the Tuvix episode where he was melted away into tuvok..it was quite funny
She's the worst character in DS9, completely useless and really whinny. As Garak said " You're pathetic! A confused child, trying to live up to a legacy left by her predecessors. You're not worthy of the name 'Dax' "
I can't stand her character. She's the reason I rarely watch season 7. Her character was such a waste of time.
I didn't think she was more annoying then the rest of the Deep Space 9 crew. The only thing I did not like is that she was a typical "non-character".
Can't even remember what her function was on DS9. That is how less she impressed me with her performance.
Wow so much hate for Ezri?? She wasn't the one who bailed on the final season of DS9. She established her character pretty freaking well considering she was taking over the role of a character that was important and left the show early.
she bothers me to no end. I find her useless and her personality repels me
People are often too hard on Ezri.
C'mon guys, she truly did a NICE job considering that she replaced one of the most popular DS9 characters.
She was sweet, young and caring. And also spontaneous.
A stupid character, completely annoying and her voice gets on my nerves.

The single most annoying person to have ever set foot on a starship. Few people were more useless. He was so bad, they had to write him off by giving him god-like powers for no apparent reason.
Comments:
I could't agree more with the no1 and no2 places. Ezri and Wesley should find their way to the nearest airlock asap
I think he was great. I know there are many of the more real nerdy Trekkies that don't like him. I suspect because there I'm jealous or have some mental issues like Sheldon Cooper lol. Anyway I thought Wesley Crusher made a good contributions to TNG
I never had a problem with Wesley, he was a nice kid... that is until he killed some damn kid in the Academy!
He's not that bad. Yeah, it's weird that a teenager who hasn't even been to Starfleet Academy is smarter than a fully-trained and experienced captain, but, I say again, he isn't very bad at all. I didn't find his 'child genius' annoying at all, in fact I found it quite refreshing.
I suppose I can understand veteran ST fans for not liking Wesley because they're used to an adults-only Enterprise, but Wesley was a gateway character that got young people hooked on what otherwise would be considered a relic sci-fi show from the '60's. I liked Wesley's character & didn't find his "smart kid" persona annoying in the least. it made sense for the series reboot to introduce a character from a relatable age group. TNG was, after all, made with 'the next generation' in mind.
I loved Wesley when I was a teenager. I still do. It was cool to see a kid that was a genius exploring space. I don't get why everyone hates on him so much
I first liked him when I watched one of the episodes where he saved the Enterprise. I was like, "What a cool character!" And then I started watching more, and more, and more, and realized he was saving the Enterprise every freakin' episode. Way overrated and overused character.
*** excuse me...genius by "24th Century Standards" is what I should have posted***
(Me = not a genius in any century)
Everyone gripes about Wesley! If you think about this future where everyone is a freakin' genius (by today's standards) it is interesting to see them include a character who was a genius/prodigy by 23rd century standards. The writers may have handled the character poorly, but the idea of a young super-genius on the ship is compelling...why wouldn't the officers make full use of his abilities?
I'm not a fan of Mr. Crusher, but I think he's not THAT bad... at least, he got better as the series went on. That would be more accurate to say.
HORRIBLE character
the writers threw him in to attact the teenage boys-audience ...
they realized after a couple of seasons how WORTHLESS he was and he was hurting the franchise
I always liked Wesley, in fact when I watched TNG in it's first airing, he was my favorite. I was surprised when I read people hated the character...
I wasn't a big fan of him, but I think it's interesting how so many people really are into him and so many others despise him. He certainly does evoke strong feelings. I never really thought of him as a huge part of the show and was surprised to find out he was a regular in 4 seasons. I think that's right anyway.
Wesley was a great character, Wheaton was a terrible actor. Wesley does not deserve to be at the top of the list. It should be Bashir and O'Brian.
How do you break the Federation flagship TWICE and NOT get in trouble?!?!
As bad as Ezri might have been, Wesley's sheer douchebaggery is reason enough to put him at the top.
Hmm, Wesley Crusher had this "I am a impulsive nerd" thing going on. Always typical that he knew all the answers to questions that so called Starfleet Academy graduates working on the Enterprise could not answer. No wonder Picard did not like him.
Really? The worst? Of the nearly 150 starring and recurring characters in the five series, Wesley ranks only behind Picard as my most favorite Star Trek characters. It was great to watch a young actor get a major role, and, fun to watch a prodigy child around adults. I always suspects Wesley is a descendant of Will Robinson of "Lost in Space".

Every time there was peril for Voyager, I found myself begging the ST gods to kill off Neelix. When Tuvok "killed" him, I feel like it was the writers living out in fantasy what they all wished they could do in actuality. Worst.
I would have liked Neelix. Except for his relationship with Kes that was difficult to watch. lol she was so cute and he was so ugly lol
I don't understand the hatred for Neelix. He is a great fun and likable character. If you disagree you obviously need to rewatch the show.....
The most annoying character in Voyager, and that took some doing.
Would go annoying and less annoying when Kes came in the room.
Suspicious attire though, looked like pizza the hut
I'm sure Ethan Phillips was asking himself if it was worth it some days to sit through hours of make-up to portray a character that barely got any screen time on the show. When I was watching "Endgame", I even forgot about Neelix until he shows up in the cameo (talking with Seven-Of-Nine) -- the character was that memorable................
I think Neelix is the worst character of all time. He was so annoying and he never did anything useful. Why make him the cook and morale officer when all he does is make awful food and make people uncomfortable and crabby?
Neelix is by far the worst. I'd rather watch an hour of Wesley than 5 minutes of this insufferable mess of whiskers and whatever that stuff on his face is.
Neelix is amazing. He made the series more fun and enjoyable.
Neelix and Kes were the two worst characters to ever grace Star Trek. However, it wasn't bad acting, just bad writing. Who the hell thought that an ugly space hobo would make good character?
Surprisingly, I almost liked him in the first episode of "Voyager." When he was sitting in the bath tub with all of the replicated foods, and Tuvok was standing outside disgustedly, I thought, "wow, this guy has an interesting personality." I watched another episode, and still had the "yay! An interesting character!" frame of mind. Then I finished the first season. He irritated me so much, that there were episodes that I couldn't even finish for days because I couldn't stand him! I was hoping for the whole series that someone would stuff him into one of the Jeffery's tubes and forget about him. That would have been cool....
Really annoying. wtf?? If any buttlicking tramp can become a morale officer on a starship, it would rather lower morale of all crew who had to work hard to be where they were. Really bad choice Janeway made.
Neelix aka Space Rip Taylor w/ Confetti... is 40% why Janeway is no where near a great Star Trek captain. The fact that this jackass was ever on the Bridge of Voyager is why Janeway sucks. Writers had to make Tuvok suck to accommodate for Neelix. A proper Tuvok would have tossed Neelix out of an airlock immediately, and then go butt-meld Tes.
Neelix was a terrible character. He was basically a space hobo who lived out of his car (i.e. his junk heap space craft), found some humans who felt sorry for him.Since his race had no redeeming qualities (i.e. strength, telepathy, etc.), and he was next to useless as far as a space faring skills ( i.e. engineering, science, or bad ass with a gun) they gave him the job of cook, which is amusing since there were constant jokes about his cooking throughout the series. I guess the only thing a space hobo is good for is taste testing alien foods so it doesn't kill the rest of the useful members of the crew. When Kes left, the should have killed off Neelix as well.
neelix is the jar jar binks of the star trek universe, why isn't he #1 most anoying? There are some really good characters, played by decent actors listed above this. That is just plain sad
AGREE Neelix should be number 1...MOST ANNOYING character in the genre
"Kitchen Rat" and Q's son removing his mouth was one of the best moves in Star Trek EVER!
Neelix was definately annoying, but not as bad as Kes. Thank God that Kes was replaced by Seven-of-Nine at some point.
Neelix always played the panicky obvious type, which definitely got on my nerves. With most of the lines he spit out I thought "No ****, Sherlock!"
Neelix is possibly the most annoying character to ever grace a TV screen. Annoying voice. Constantly seeking attention and approval of others. He never shuts up. His suit looked like someone puked all over him. His hair is nasty as well.
Idiotic moronic ANNOYING egomaniac. Morale officer my ass. Kill on sight

Yes she was an irritating tool. The main problem was that they'd fill episodes with all this religious Bajoran chaff, where they worshipped Sodastream bottles or something......that was why we hate her.
Plus looks like a Stonefish.
This character being on this list shows how well that actress did her job and the wirters on DS9 did theirs. her job is to make you hate her. But she is a great character in the show and does not belong on this list at all.
Kai Winn was a good villian. Her whole purpose was to be the typical fake holy man, has no faith themselves, yet uses the religion to advance their own personal ambitions. Sour, bitter, angry at the prophets and her people for not seeing what she had done for them and the sacrifices she made. Also, she was also the voice of the computer, that deserves to keep her off the list.
Shouldn't be on this list. She was like a white chick Darth Vadar type. She pulled it off so well. I couldn't stand her. Her being this high up proves she did her job that well in my eyes.
There are several DS9 episodes that I've never watched all the way through because of this horrible, annoying, pointless woman. She is everything that was wrong with DS9 packed into one character.
i would add anyone who ever grabbed someone's ear claiming their pah was strong.....each time worth 100 points on this list!
I didn't count but i guess she would be unreachable at the top of this list and deserved it (but i also have to admit that was the goal and i admire Louise Fletcher for the job she did....i hated her more than anyone)
Can't believe she is so far up here, one of the most interesting and well played characters on star trek, didn't the actress even win an oscar? What is wrong with you people...
She WAS meant to be hated but I still think others could occupy this slot..Their have been some really baad characters in the series.
You were supposed to hate her... So I guess this means she was doing a good job.
She is an awesome villain and one of those characters you love to hate.
She doesn't deserve to be on here

It's crazy, this was Tom Hardy's biggest role. Obviously, they saw his talent. The problem wasn't him, it was the direction and dialogue, basically everything about him was wrong, that is Shinzon, not Tom Hardy. I didn't even think he looked like Picard either, even with the prosthetic nose and chin. That said, Nemesis did have some of the best starship on starship action!! The only problem I had with the space battles were there should have been much more scoring on the hull of the Enterprise!
On the plus side, the Enterprise-E never looked so good!
God, I wish they'd do a reboot of Star Trek: TNG, or at least do one more film. One with the whole cast of TNG with the right story and director...J.J.....please. Just think how amazing TNG would look with ILM's current FX compared to on the show.
Nemesis started out good and then got worse and worse. By the time the movie was almost over, it was terrible. It was a slow movie for me and didn't have enough action and plot. Shinzon made it even worse. He just seemed like a stupid villain. Most of the TNG movies lacked good villains and plots anyway.
I'd actually put Nemesis as the most underrated of the Star Trek movies, Shinzon was a great villain actually, I don't this Nemesis ever got the reputation it deserves.
Shinzon was the worst star trek movie bad guy ever! and the way he died was disgusting (getting impaled on a random spiky thing).
Considering the movies are just Star Trek episodes, and Nemesis being the worst Star Trek episode ever, I am glad Shinzon was killed. His character was so bad that he will not easily be forgotten.

Meh. She made sense. She was Obsidian Order and Marquis, then she served on a Federation ship, there's no wonder she knew all the tricks and was as hard to her rid of a bed bugs. It worked for her.
I actually thought Seska was a decent and BELIEVABLE villain. The Kazon on the other hand............... (Let's just say I understand why the Borg deemed the species unworthy of assimilation....)
All Voyager characters had major problems. Its why the show never worked.
Maybe she would have been an interesting character, but it was overplayed, the "I'm so evil and mean" attitude is simply bad acting does not make a goof evil character.
Actually seska made a decent villain. I think if the baby had been chekotays and if they not killed her, they could have gotten a few more interesting episodes. If she had gotten assimilated by the Borg at the end, it would have been awesome.
Seska really sucked, but apparently the Kazon were so retarded as a race, that even a throw-away character like Seska had to be used to try to make interesting episodes with them. Fortunately, both didn't last very long in the series.
i just can't believe that even a cardassian spy would leave the voyager 70000 lightyears away from home only to join...the KAZON???

As a kid he was adorable. I hated that they soap opera grow him in DS9 and ruined his character making a joke
Seriously? Alexander isn't an annoying character. He's just a kid. A Kingon kid. I mean, that's how Klingon's behave. And he has Worf as a dad. That would be awful.
C'mon guys, he's messed up because Worf kept abandoning his sorry part human ass.....=)
They kinda save him in the Klingon Storyline of Star Trek Online.
C'mon, he was just a child. Most child actors end up with ruined lives because of the exploitation, bad/abusive parenting, and, unfortunately, the sexual abuse which is all too common in the industry....he should have been out playing and being a child, not performing......
I liked Alexander alright. He got a raw deal for parents for sure.
anyone who has watched any alexander episodes knows that ungreatfull selfish little pa'tah was like a cancer. All he ever did was disagree with his dad and complain. The most important reason he is on the list is his complete inability to act or convey any emotion. Every moment he was on screen was agony. The ONLY other actor that has such an inability to act, and convey emotions was Garret Wang
If this is Alexander, son of Warf, then he does not deserve to be on the list. In fact, I LOVED the idea of perspectives of Star Trek episodic events seen by a child. There should have been more children on the show and more often.

Agreed. Whiney, bratty, peevish. Her worst moment came when Miles cane back from his simulated 20 years in prison. Molly was pestering Miles to look at her drawing, and Keiko just sat there looking stupidly between the two of them. He finally loses his temper and shouts at Molly. Then Keiko grabs Molly and yells at him. Why in the world she didn't tell that child to be quite before it reached that point, I will never understand. The man was suffering from an extreme mental strain in which he was subjected to 20 years on prison where he ultimately killed his best friend, only to be awakened to realize only a few hours had passed. His whole world was in shambles, and she doesn't have the good sense to give the man some peace and quiet. Pitiful.
Eww when she says to the real o'brian "I bet you cant wait for desert (sex stuff)" she twist her neck and show all of her teeth and crunsh her nose and breathe and groan like "herrrrgggghhnfa" was so gross and nerd, and all the while while in 10-frontward.
Episodes that cut to the "domestic bliss" of the O'Briens always made me cringe because of how that harpy Keiko would emasculate the poor Chief. She was a truly unlikable character. I don't care if the writers purposely wrote them as a difficult relationship - it was a dreadful plot device that slowed down whatever episode they appeared in together. Keiko was pure poison.
The charmless Keiko sure gave interracial marriage a bad name for a show that's supposed to be so PC.
How many upvotes can I give this one? Keiko was really, really, really awful. Really awful.
Glad to see she's up here with a lot of votes. I never really minded Keiko O' Brien when I watched DS9 as a teenager, but as I'm currently re-watching the series I find myself shocked by how utterly loathsome that character actually was. It really is true: all she does is, in nearly each and every second she's on screen, is complain and nag in the bitchiest of ways. (Check for yourselves: there's a video on youtube called 'Why Everyone Hates Keiko O'brien'. Nice compilation of evidence). On the one hand you could say 'that's just the way the character was written', but I think it was mostly a question of Rosalind Chao being unable to convey any feelings of warmth. The scene that convinced me of that? Chief O'Brien and Keiko sending the grown-up version of their daughter Molly back through time, thinking that they'll never see her again ("Time's Orphan" 6x24). As Molly hugs her dad in a last goodbye, Keiko stands there looking at them with what I guess is an attempt by Rosalind Chao to have her character show pain and sorrow. But she ends up looking like she wants to stick a knife in her husband's gut.
She was ok, i guess it's difficult to play a loving wife if there is no chemistry whatsoever with the actor playing the husband.
She really should be number one on this list. Absolute worst Star Trek character of all time. All she did was whine and nag... I'm not sure what the Chief saw in her.
Miles was so unattractive, how would he ever get a woman like Keiko??
Her purpose was to whine, whine, complain nasally and torture poor Chief O'Brien to the point of madness. What he ever saw in her is a mystery to me. Out the airlock with her!

I like Scott Bakula. I think he's a solid TV actor. I don't necessarily think he was miscast for Enterprise, I just didn't like his acting as Archer. I know he was going more for a military style character, at least in terms of making himself respected. It's just that, (to me anyway) it came across as someone reading cue cards with every line. That's just what it sounded like to me. When I heard Scott Bakula was going to the "first Captain" of the Enterprise, I was excited, until he started talking. I'm not sure if was the producers that wanted that style of acting or something he did, but for Enterprise, his acting was horrible. Pretty much any other shows he's done have been great, even his newest NCIS New Orleans. Of course that show has it's own problems with "Jeep" as one of the main characters. Anyone know who I'm talking about. He was on a certain "Angel themed movie" and he was also on The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift. I don't know how this guy got into acting. He must know someone powerful in Hollywood. He's one of the WORST actors, male or female ever and he continues to get work. Ahh, I'll just say it. His name is Lucas Black. He's supposed to be in the Furious 9.....SERIOUSLY. Please tell me they're not trying to replace Paul Walker with "Jeep"!
Worst Star Trek EVER, worst captain ever. Even worse than Sisko and his acting was TERRIBLE. If you can even call that acting. But back to Archer. He just sucked. Lol
I think Enterprise is underrated because of a handful of terrible episodes. It also had a boring cast. Why a Vulcan? But Archer was not a good character because he didn't feel like the Captain. Picard and Kirk act like they are in charge and are serious about their duties, while Archer just kind of was "there."
i really liked ENTERPRISE
trip and archer were excellent
but i see so many negative comments about this series...
am i one of the few who liked this series?
I always thought this was more a case of miscasting than merely annoying character development; I found the Archer character to be pretty interesting when I thought about him separate from the actor who portrayed him. I think of Scott Bakula as more of a "leading man" kind of guy, rather than a true actor/performer (i.e. more of a "Clark Gable" than a "Lawrence Olivier"). The archer character (esp. in later seasons) was far darker and brooding than I think Bakula could realistically portray. A better actor I think could have made this a really great character (and likely carried this series beyond 4 seasons).
For seasons one and two, I kind of liked him. After a while, I got sick of the whole "I am a good guy; love me" act. By season three, when he was being Mr. Rageman, I was thinking, "When will this end?!"
I couldn't make it through episode 3 season 1 this whole show was so bad. Archer was the worst and that Klingon chick ugh!
Who is he? This show was so uninteresting that much lees should one bother to pay attention to the characters.
Firefly should have been Enterprise. If anyone listened to me -- we would be watching 7 seasons of Firefly right now --- Way to kill the franchise Bakula.
Well he acted like an American because he was from the area of the planet in which the U.S had been. World Cultures were much stronger during this time of S.T. history then in lets say "The Next Generation."
Did not really care for him because he acted like a stereotype American. He could have bin a bit more subtle about his origins.

Easily the worst character, ever. Wooden. His acting was beyond stiff, he always sounded like he was a second grader reading his lines from cue cards at a school play. Ugh!
Other than the comments I'd have no idea who he is. Bearing in mind just watched shed loads of episodes...says it all.
I didnt know people actually watched this show i had to google his name. I forget about that Enterprise Abortion.
Travis Mayweather reminded me of Galaxy Quest (1999)'s Daryl Mitchell . Not because all Black men look alike -- but because Galaxy Quest somehow parodied Enterprise... (or is that vice versa?)
He always had this "Yeehaw" thing going. No patience, impulsive and over-patriotic. Horrible.
11.
The absolutely most mentally challenged enemy in Star Trek. The Marquis were so lame. Voyager would of been more interesting if they had been forced to pair up with Cardassians , Romulans or even a bunch of walking turds.

Oh yeah, poor character for sure on Voyager. The writers should have killed him AND Kes off the show after the 3rd season!
I can count on one hand the number of times this guy got the transporters to work in an emergency.
The only reason I ever like Harry Kim was because almost all the other Voyager characters sucked.
I don't know; I always found him likeable in a very bland sort of way. Better than Neelix. ( Then again, that's not too hard.)
Harry should be right near the top of the list. It is actors like Garret Wang that made Voyager as mediocre as it was. He completely lacked any ability to show emotion.... No matter what the situations were his mannerisms were exactly the same...his sad, upset, worried, scared, and confused all look the same he never ever acts with any level of belief. THe show producers should have identifed his awful performance and wrote him off the show. Instead you got a novice actor as a lead for 7 seasons of way below average performances , episodes starring him were more dull than a pile of dirt...he acted the same in love as he did upset. Compared to any tng character he is like a blank piece of White paper vs. A dickens novel
Kim would have got his ass kicked in public high school. WAY WAY cooler than Neelix though. Where the hell is Neelix/Jarjar binks on this damn list?
He just wanted to get home and be a great officer...He was a good character and NOT deserving of this rating..Tom and Harry were a team, harry grew very well with the show, in the end he could have captained his own ship
If ever there has been a more annoying kid than Wesley Crusher, it's go to be Harry "I'm Mr perfect" Kim.
He was kinda okay. Bit whiny at times about getting back to earth sooner. Bit egocentric. Like all the other crew members did not care about getting back home.

All the occupation speeches and stuff got dull but she was the only fit woman on the station, until leela appeared.
Did you know? That Bajor got occupied? Because this bint will mention it every episode. Even in the last one. To be fair, even Odo sacks her off for a pool of mud. don't blame him
It seemed like Kira was always in tears about something. I remember her nth crying scene at the end of "Ties Of Blood And Water" -- her face was just awful to look at!
A two-demensional annoyance. I wish they had written her off in season one.
She was a bit annoying and the whole Bajoran rituals, religion, and resistance thing getting brought up every episode was boring, but I really didn't mind her that much. But Odo did deserve better. I do agree with that.
I'm not sure she ever went an entire episode without saying "in the resistance..." Okay, we get it, you were a terrorist. Odo was too good for her.
Rawr! I am angry! Bejorans are getting screwed by the occupation! A one dimensional character that didn't really grow or change over 7 seasons.
3rd hottest woman in all of star trek after tpol and ezri. Great character too.
I heard that the role of the Bajorian on DS9 was originally intended for Michelle Forbes (Ro Laren), but she turned it down. I enjoyed her performances on STNG and if this was true, it would have "elevated" DS9 a great deal.
totally should be number one... maybe number two. the character Melora Pazlar from episode 26 of ds9.. should be way up on the list as one of the most annoying characters from star trek. it's even hard to just look at her and her hideous face.
at first i thought she was kind of hot, but its amazing how quickly that dissapears when you have a horrible personality. annoying mannerisms, frequent displays of smugness, and a neverending supply of facial expressions that were designed to do nothing but show contempt towards anyone talking to her. kira's penchant for overacting was just icing on the sh*t sundae. hated her.
Kira is very emotional for a senior (bajorian militia) officer, and that was boring. But, Our Man Bashir -- she was awesome, and the alternative universe lesbian kiss with Ezri Dax... was just damn awesome.
Glad no one commented badly on this one :D

Captain Kathryn Janeway's obnoxious first officer. An absolutely wooden character who was also often completely ineffectual. Robert Beltran hated the character, and it showed in the performance. Why people wanted him to get together with Janeway, I don't know.
Comments:
I loved Chakotah! He was true to his heritage. Many people don't understand the Native American people and their beliefs!
Bull crap! Chakotay was a great character! So masculine and cool and collected at the same time. The actor did a good job and plus he is hot!
Should've made him rage out at everything then he would've been so much better. Seriously too much nicey-nice-come-talk-to-my-chuffing-frog-spirit-guide or whatever
Worst Indian ever (from some sort of space colony too.....? Didn't Wesley join some colony like that at one point? ENOUGH SAID!)
Apparently, being far from the sacred home of his ancestors and the bones of his people made him act half-dead most of the time (unless he was around Janeway some of the time, especially in the first 2 seasons).
Chakotay was not even a real character the only thing i know about him is hes native american he is so hollow and useless. Voyager failed because of bad characters like well the two main Command characters Janeway and Chakotay The writers never new what to do with them thats why the ships cook went on most away missions
I thought he was pretty cool but the general public does not agree apparently
acoochimoya?! dumb character, he had his moments but they tried to utilize his native american roots too heavily. it felt like some kind of affirmative action lol.
Absolutely bland character. Really weak, though sometimes wears face expression of a fighter.
A horrid character. No depth or emotions. What native American tribe does he even belong to? And he always spouts out this Hoochi-moya crap that I guess the star trek writers thought was a religion.
Some casting agent spaz had to make Voyager as Captain Planet as possible. Hence Chakotay. Neelix knows his lines way way way better than Chakotay ever could. Even Neelix could act like jackass Neelix -- Chakotay was just embarrassing.
The supposed "Native American", who constantly talked a bunch of native american bullcrap, who strangely enough wasn't even from Earth, nor were his family. How the hell is supposed to be a Native American if he isn't even from Earth?! They should have just replaced him an old tobacco store indian, it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference in the character since both have the same amount of screen presence, and they would have had exactly what they wanted, a stereotypical Native American in a starfleet uniform.
His performance was quite bad. The lines he had to say were over-acted. He spit them out literally without any sort of emotion. Reminds me of Keanu Reeves, but then even more horrible. Go watch "Voyager - Endgame" and look up the moment where he tries to comfort Seven-of-Nine with the text "You know me better then THAT".
Absolutely the worst character ever. Maybe he should of consulted his super gay animal spirit on how to go find a show he actually belonged in. Something where he marries a dood and adopts genetically crossbred human puppies.

Two words to explain her presence in the Star Trek universe: BOSS' WIFE.....
Lwaxana gets more and more predatory with each episode. The one with Odo stuck in the lift literally makes me move away from the screen and her rapey clutches.
After the first Episode in Generations shes in you think na ill never see her again thell figure it out and then shes back. Thne shes back again. Then shes on Deep Space 9! my final conclusions is she had naked pictures of her and Patrick Stewart.
I think Lwaxana Troi and every plot she was ever in was awful. Her libido featured prominently in every one btw, Truly I'd rather watch Wesley Crusher and Neelix in a Klingon production of River Dance than suffer a single minute of her boring "Luwaxana needs to get laid" crap. I skip every episode in which she appears. Nurse Chapel was fine, and Majel Baret's computer voice is iconic. Lwaxana should have been shot into space.
Who would suggest this? Lwaxana was great, and her voice is the damn computers of most every star trek. She was the Creator of Star Trek's wife. Shouldn't be on this list.
17.
Comments:
Her voice is what grates on me. She always talks in that low, heavy-breath, semi-seductive voice, almost like she's working for a phone sex hotline. It's beyond annoying. She's easily in my top 5 worst characters.
Kes was another one of those characters put on Star Trek to please the femmes. Â Women must never be seen as weak, vulnerable, dumb or foolish. Â Imagine what the feminists would say if it was Nelix who gained the super powers and dumped Kes. Â Or if there was a rival for Nelix's attention and he ended up knocking her up. Â You see, the feminists don't actually believe she comes off as bitchy, annoying and pushy. Â They see her as strong, intelligent and self confident. Â While all this does not in its self make her the worst character it does add her to the list of Star Trek characters similar to her that all add up to the worst character (Keiko, Troi, Hoshi, Kira and many, many guest characters). Â
Bitchy, annoying, pushy, self important, "better than" attitude, bossy, my way is the right way, condescending, all the same can be said of Kieko too as long as mean spirited is added to the list.
I want to attach her to a photon torpedo and fire her into the nearest star, worst ever!
Kes was moderately cute and annoying like few other characters in the Trekverse. Her mannerisms, her love for space hobo Neelix, her voice, her idiotic lifespan, all of it awful. Truly a solid candidate for early ejection into space.
Kes...Ezri...Kira... I call them MILF pixies. or Good from far, far from good.
Kes and the Okampa were equally useless. The Star Trek Universe would have been better if someone had said "Screw the Okampa, I want to go home!"
Kes was the most horrible character EVER. Whining like she was having PMS 24/7. She acted like the whole universe revolted around her personality. Big BOOHOO to her !
18.
How is she not on this list. She should be # 1 right behind Nelix. She was totally useless and very annoying. She of all the picks had absolutely no value or purpose. At least Nelix cooked and did that stupid little Nelix dance. Lol.
Comments:
Quite patronising and smug to go with it.On the plus side, she was very attractive to look at,so i would give her a pass.
Troi was so annoying in the first couple of seasons, but grew stronger as a character when the writers finally stopped using her as an object. She finally donned a Starfleet uniform (and not some of those jump suits that looked like Goodwill rejects...) and finally showed some depth of character (e.g., "Face Of The Enemy) instead of constantly spewing her pedantic psycho babble....
She was on the bridge because she had the ability to translate feelings and intent of beings that the universal translator couldn't communicate with....and to make sure Picard didn't attack any children in the first season XD
Having a ship's counselor was not a bad idea. Having her sit on the bridge next to the Captain was because she did not belong there. She would've made a better character if she had a smaller part.
Troi should be #1 most annoying. Agree with prior post...why in the world would she be on the bridge??? Overly emotional character with no working knowledge of ship systems!
"Tell me your feelings."
"I want to through you straight out the airlock!"
"I'm sensing some aggression."
Troi is the mistress of stating the obvious and SO annoying. She should be at least number two, her mom right behind her.
Troi was pretty cool actually in the first couple seasons, after that she became useless.

Wasted potential. Much better match for Kira than Shakaar (wtf??) or Odo (this plot should not exist).
Plus, he would be such an interesting opponent to Kai Winn!
Wasted character!
Suuuuuper hot!!!
A litle too whiny, could be a little bit more "badboyish" sometimes, but otherwise awesome.
Perfect chemistry with Kira. Can't forgive the writers for killing him off just to match Kira with Odo (totally unbelievable, I *hate* Odo being in love with Kira, what a stupid idea). Bareil and Kira are still one of my favourite ST couple!
I liked him. Definitely, one of the greatest Bajoran characters
20.
No character development whatsoever. Every B'Elanna episode was about how she was 'RAHH SO ANGRY', and how she was still that angry by the end of the episode. Come next B'Elanna episode, nothing was any different. She was so mean to people without a real reason too! Point in case: poor ensign Vorik. She could have handled that a bit more delicately. Everything was about her and 'boo hoo I'm Klingon'. That did not really change for seven seasons. Get over it.
Comments:
Agreed. For 7 seasons, it was like OK we get it, you're a human-klingon hybrid that has anger-management issues. Still, she did have her moments on the show -- e.g., I did like her in "Blood Fever" and especially in "Extreme Risk"....
I completely agree, no character development whatsoever. She came into the series as this emotionally unstable child and seven seasons later she was still an emotionally unstable child. She was a horrible individual, mean and cruel to everyone, insanely irresponsible, and even managed to edge out Neelix and Janeway as my least favorite Voyager character. The episode where she reprogrammed the Doctor so he'd operate on her baby without telling Tom was completely bat**** insane, if I were him I would've divorced her on the spot and taken custody of his child. A child can't raise a child and that's B'ellana Torres. Holy **** this is a long rant, I really hate this character though...

What. Complicated, funny, powerful, great dad. Great commander and captain. He was a stage actor, and his performance reflects that, sometimes it doesn't translate well on TV, but the same with Patrick Steward. In the Pale Moonlight might be one of the best episodes in Star Trek history. He should not be on this list.
Terrible actor, not even a captain, horrible series. And... he... talks... haltingly. Hate his voice, hate his son, just hate him. Oh and he looks creepy with those beady eyes.
All the emissary stuff was rubbish, but he was good at his normal role as a captain/commander.
Al the emissary stuff was rubbish, but he was good at his normal role as a captain/commander.
Showed some good aspects. Except when he became Space Jesus, seriously the whole religion tripe got dull quickly. Also any episode involved his family in some suspiciously stereotypical food place. God they were dull.
Deserved to die in a better way, maybe Morn head butting him
TOO MUCH OVERACTING. But other than that, a good Starfleet captain....
Come on now theirs bad things you can say about the acting but. Come on. he shouldnt be here.
love hate. terrible acting, great writing. Unfortunatelt avery jones has to over act every scene, as if he is on saturday night live, satirizing himself. I like avery jones, but his acting is simply awful
Such bad acting- and creepy scenes whenever he was with his son.
Best captain in Star trek history. He should number 1,000,000,000,000,000 on the list.
What? This is insanity. Easily the best captain of all the star trek shows.
Sisko not only deserves to be on this list, he should be at number 1. A lot of his scenes are basically unwatchable, he ruined DS9.
I like Picard best of the Captains, but Sisko is pretty awesome. Why is he on this list?
Sisko was bad ass! Absolutely unconscionable that he is on this list...and pretty close to the top! What are people thinking?
What!??? Why is Sisko on this list? He is the most badass captain of all the series!!!!
Seriously the only other captain that can be compared to Kirk and Picard. DS9 was some great Star Trekking.
Sisko was a great charactor, but the actor was just terrible, too much overacting, thats probably why he is on the list.
Really liked Captain Sisko, he had a character like Captain Picard, and he played it great in his own ways.
Didn't really like him. Don't get me wrong; I think it's a good thing that an Afro American got the lead role in this series. Bit variation never hurts ! Still, he acted quite stereotype, especially the way he talked. Sometimes I really expected Odo to walk to him and give him a bucket of KFC just to shut him up. Still think that Deep Space 9 was a horrible series. Boring and a big anti-climax in the last episode.
He is one of the most complex characters from ST: The commander of Deep Space 9. And the Emissary of the Prophets. Decorated combat officer, widower, father, mentor and... oh, yes, the man who started the war with the Dominion
The Sisko are not satisfied with this list
No way does Sisko deserve to be on this list. Best captain of them all.

Yes I hated her and her bigotry towards data. Rumour gas it she was mates with Rodenberry and he replaced Bev Crusher with ger. However she was hated by the audience and apparently a nightmare on set so he was over ruled and Patrick Stewart convinced Be very Crushed actress to return for season 3
She just didn't click with the other characters on TNG. LOL, could you imagine Pulaski with Picard in "Attached"?!
She's like a Dr. McCoy, a competent doctor and brave women, a good crew member. I definetely love her!
Pulaski was a throwback to a more country kind of doctor, like Bones. We only got one season of her, and not many episodes that featured her. I think if she had been allowed to develop more she would have been more likable.
I actually appreciated her initial bigotry toward Data since it raised some interesting questions about what it means to be "human" or "alive."
23.
A beagle whose pointlessness actually ended up having a whole episode devoted to his owner trying to save him. Why does a starship captain have a dog? And of all dogs, a beagle, which causes nothing but trouble? I don't know. But when you actually make a reference in later material that said dog has disappeared in a freak accident, you know nobody likes him.
Comments:
Loved the way he destroyed the Xindi weapon and saved Earth.
That was the dog yeah? As the rest of the crew couldn't find their way out of a paper bag......
Any money out there on whether Captain Archer committed bestiality with Porthos during his off-hours?....
It's a dog for crying out loud! I liked Porthos better than the rest of the crew. But that one episode, A Night In Sickbay, was stupid, boring, and Archer's dreams of T'Pol were creepy and unnecessary.
I think a dog is still about the best companionship you can have. If Archer would have had a cat and I was working on the Enterprise, I probably would have thrown out of the nearest airlock. Still, a lonely captain having difficulties really bonding with the crew also needs love and affection. Thats probably why he is so addicted to a dog.
I love that little furry animal.
Porthos is charismatic and you should not forget that the first space traveller in Human History was a dog named Laika so I think it was a nice tribute to man's best friend.
Go Porthos, Go!
24.
The one person more useless than Wesley Crusher. All she ever did was sit around and talk about feelings. Yes, she was the counselor. But she could have become more invested in the crew's lives. Instead, she whined and sensed things.
Comments:
Troi was often critical to the mission. You guys are really oversimplifying things. And why hate on her because she has big boobs? Ladies, stick together. No one else is on your side.
She was super ****able. Her ****ableness has to take her off this list
Troi is the most useless B- (see TNG 4x10) in the history of Star Trek. It's a skill to tell you that a Klingon is pissed of, a Farangi is scamming you or a Romulan is hiding something? Duh.
Hot? On that show beverly crusher even gave her a run for her money on hottness...hell a 5 and a 6 is the best they could do? At least kess, and seven of nine where at least 8 or 9's.
She was HOT...Biggest sex symbol of the star trek series period...mmmm even as an older woman she became even more yummm..Sorry she shouldn't be on this list because she is sexy lol
I liked Deanna, because ALL classic sci-fi series have to have the hot chick mixed in somewhere. She's a necessity. Her role, acting and depth are all fairly shallow however. They COULD have done a lot more with her.
Didn't care for her either. Prancing around with her big boobs. Every step she made it was like "Hey ... look at THESE". I agree that she always reported the obvious. Like in Star Trek : Generations where Picard got the message on the holodeck that his sons died in a fire. Picard takes off his hat and looks sadly over the ocean. Troy : Captain .. are you allright ? What is Picard supposed to say ? Like "Yes, I always look sad and take of my hat. Haven't you never noticed"
Indeed,...and besides the rank unbelievability was her 'superhuman' grasp of the COMPLETELY obvious!...for example: SITUATION: random (let's say 'Klingon') enemy ship captain grunts loudly over the viewing screen about his sheer hatred for Picard and crew while rocking the ENTERPRISE silly with phasers and torpedos et al....Troi (with her near 'supernatural' Betazoid wisdom chimes in something like "Captain, I sense anger from the Klingon ship"......In MY ending: 'DATA' to PICARD: 'Captain, would you like me to escort the useless counsellor to the nearest starboard airlock for oxygen deprivation training'?'
25.
Does that even require explanation?
Take the most annoying from B'Elana, Kira and Tasha - here you have Ro Laren. Maybe the only character (with Tasha) that I do not see ANY positive sides. Such a relief she didn't accept to go for DS9!
Comments:
That's mean. Ro's an awesome character and I liked how she was the more feisty sort of type. I thought it was quite refreshing. The people who don't like her just don't like strong female characters. But I agree she should've been in more episodes
26.
Comments:
She slammed Riker on his career choice all because she wanted to become the ship's first officer, and now in comics fiction she's bootlicked her way up to becoming an Admiral, how? by advanced paper shuffling?
27.
Not on the list, really? Should be fighting for the number one spot with Kira. Terrible character, terrible actress... who was she sleeping with? Ugh. Typical ST writer's "strong woman with issues" character. I seriously thought she was going to be the "Red Shirt" in the first ep, but no... so glad when she was killed off, so sad when she tried to write herself back into the series, so glad when it didn't happen. Too bad one can't unsee...
Comments:
When your most memorable highlight on TNG is giving an android a blowjob, that's when you realize you have to quit the show.....
Wow! Now that was some extremely bad acting!
Always almost getting a panik attack. And that's supposed to be the security officer? The best moment was attacking one of the guards from Judge Q. Big LOL. Big fail in the script. She should have been a redshirt.
Terrrrrible acting. Drunk Tasha was the worst. Wait... everything else was too. Btw - sex appeal I don't think so. Kira at least can smile and use a panel of different behaviors. All that Tasha could do is look alarmed and not containt herslef (talk about "security" officer... big LOL).
I hate her. Should be first on the list.
Totally useless and sooooo bad acting.

Comments:
A bland character indeed. Any more boring, and he definitely would have been invisible for the show!
I like Tuvok. He has a big heart and is the only reassuring, calm mind on that ship, Chakotay beinga close second. In fact, Voyager would have been better off with Chakotay and Tuvok in charge. Janeway was annoying, often unnecessarily stubborn, harsh and unthinking and should be on this place in the list. If she hadn't had Tuvok and Chakotay to counter her for every step, Voyager would have been doomed.
Except for the pained expression he usually wore he was a very convincing Vulcan. The second best after Spock.
Tuvok is on this list because the writers made him adapt to Neelix. That sucked. But, I also believe he should be on this list because he was in other episodes as different characters.
thats difficult...i actually like tuvok but i have to agree with my precommentator on that racial issue.
given the overall climate of vulcan i would have expected any vulcan to be black or (because of different biological sun-protection than humans have) none...unless of course vulcan once had a more earth-like nature with different zones but for all i saw it was very much a giant desert-ball with some blobs of water.
I also liked to deduce in the star trek universe, humans were likely to be the connecting factor (as shown in ST:ENT ) between races because of our history AND - foremost - own diversity...
even if vulcans believe in infinite diversity...in my opinion they could have come to that conclusion simply by using their logic!
so i would like to add my worst characters: Producers and writers who don't think their stories through to the end...and tuvok is only a small example for such behaviour
Tuvok was an awesome character. He played a very believable vulcan. Once you got past the shock of the black vulcan thing, the character and the actor where awesome. And I don't mean that as racist, Its just kind of made me wonder how an alien species developed the same races as humans. Come on you all thought the same thing. Are there asian vulcans too? Just wondering.
Tuvok was awesome, just like voyager was...How is tuvok 10 he was the most like spock of any series..All tuvok episodes were great, he made the show entertaining especially mocking others with logic :)
Tuvok does not deserve to be on the list. He represents a melding of sociological real world views and traits. He also represents someone who will not be challenged. TNG had Picard and Rikker to fill this role. Tuvok was this for Janeway, as she was often compromised.

Really annoying character and voice. Also having a female captain was/is crazy.
First of all Kate Mulgrew said herself she never really put her whole heard into this role because of person problems but the characters was dead from day one The writers never had anything for her she was a Female version of Picard when she should have been more of a Female Kirk a aggressive cocky female captain. The writers had nothing for her nothing!
what i could never figure out is HOW this series lasted 7 years? yes yes we all LOVE '7' (doctor was very interesting as well) ... but the rest of the characters were GARBAGE ... i almost never watched any episodes that didn't feature '10' (i mean '7') ... LOL
Kate mulgrew I think did a fine job. The problem is ever captain is compared to Patrick Stewart. Which there will probably never be another to compare to him. The story line on voyager shouldn't have limited the writers. But, in certain episodes it was. Janeway be the first female captain we got, to see had a very human side. She almost seemed masculine, but kept the essence on feminism. The episode equinox, showed all her best quality. Next to seven on nine, she was the best
Janeway wasn't just the worst character on voyager. She is close to being the worst character in all of Star Trek. She was an idiot of a captain, always making the wrong descision. Kate Mulgrew's acting just made her character worse. She has two moves: the pompous "I'm so proud of what just happened", and the "WTF did you just say look". She did add the "not this again" move later. She was such an overactor. You'd think with all her training she would have learned to be more subtle. She always stood too close to people, and always had to touch everyone. I could tell it made them uncomfortable, and it made me uncomfortable too. Her incredibly flat profile makes for terrible TV. Luckily the directors learned to get away from profile views later in the show. Preferring to use behind shots most of the time. Unfortunately, the extreme overuse of the hugely softened lense tends to make that slight bit of insight irrelevant. The purple lipstick, while chic in the 90's, just makes her look even more like the wicked witch of the west. Aaaannd THAT VOICE!? It's like fingernails on the chalkboard!!!
I liked Voyager, but I spaced the Captain after the first few episodes.
She could play a communications officer like Uhura, not a captain of a starship. Really bad choice. She was good in Macrocosm episode, though. I think B'Elanna would have been much better as a captain of Voyager.
I liked janeway, she was flawed with deeply human character, she definitely grew on me.
Who the hell thought a Katherine Hepburn impersonation would have made a good captain!? Terrible character, terrible series
Janeway was quite okay. Nice looking lady for her age. Did not notice any annoying habits in her acting. Bit over-motivated at some times but thats about it.
30.
They may have been interesting on their own, but together, they were just terrible.
Comments:
Enterprise had a great potential, but the casting was awful. Jolene Fake Porn Knockers is probably the worst actress in ST history. I could not take her seriously.
In the mirror darkly was a great 2 part episode that linked back to TOS and DS9, sad to see it wasn't appreciated
i liked ENTERPRISE and was very disappointed it didn't get better ratings
I really didn't mind the series, I like Archer and besides Trip being bland and Malcolm being annoying I thought the other characters were compelling. The writing was definitely different from the other series but I didn't mind it.
Shran was only reason why ENT was watchable, altough Weyoun was better i still prefer Shran, Enterprise and Voyager Cast was worst !
Trip was awesome, T'pol was georgeous and Reed was smug. There were some redeeming characters/moments but the writing and storylines are what made it circle the drain.
31.
I had to turn this garbage off after 3 episodes. Worst pile of acting shite I’ve ever seen in my life.

Comments:
Oh goood, such a whiny, bossy, unrespectful "leave-me-alone-I'm-fine, besides-it's-all-your-fault" character. She gets agressive because others want to help her to adujst to different gravity? It's like you would get aggressive towards someone giving you gas mask in a toxic environment. Why would you hate them?
She was very sexy but because of her obnoxious character I found her disgusting (literally) to watch.
She's not a cripple, she reacts to a different gravity.
But she gives real "cripples" a bad name for sure.
33.
a.k.a. Valjean!?! what a prick...a self-absorbed, delusional liar and traitor...he never even tried reasoning but saw himself as the righteous hero of the poor maquis...oh yeah they're in here too, but at least they were no traitors...
34.
What a sourpuss! Dour, constant posturing, generally humorless and stubborn. Almost no empathy or warmth. His smiles at best are half-hearted or worse, patronizing. I wonder whose idea it was to play him so ultra-serious and self=important. The more I watch TNG, the more I dislike him.
Comments:
It always pissed me off the way he shook his head at someone when he was done badgering them. He needed to take that giant stick out of his ass.
Ricker was rock solid. Intimidating when he wanted to be. You knew the Enterprise was in good hands when Picard was off ship.
Been watching TNG on sc-fi recently.Forgotten how smug Riker was.
Each time I revisit this series, I like him less. He spends all his time thinking with his little head, either chasing space tail or slapping it on the deck next to a ruler. I can't think of too many times this character actually succeeded at anything and many when his hormones almost cost the crew the ship. And Frakes just isn't that hot.
Hard to take serious, uninteresting, although he always made me laugh when he pulled in is belly every time he wasn't in uniform!
i liked him much much better 'with' beard
oftentimes i thought he'd make a far better
captain than 'picard... let's have a conference'
Awful character: self important, humorless, and the smug oozed off of him like some kind of swamp fog. I wouldn't have followed that guy across the street, much less into battle. Had he been in Viet Nam he would have been a candidate for fragging (killed by his own troops) He should be much higher in the list.
pre-beard sure his character sucked. but post-beard he was such a pimp with the ladies. respect.
Riker had the demeanor or Kirk. He was the ladies man and swagger of the Kirk man incarnate. Not a huge fan but there was always "that guy" in each series. Bashir maybe, definitely Tom Paris then Trip for Enterprise.
Whoever wrote this list has a seriously messed up mind. Many of these characters especially Riker. Did you ever pay attention to Star Trek?

Supposedly the cool ex-con. Turns out to be wet lettuce.
What's with the stupid Flash Gordon crud? Just what a muppet, plus best mate with Kim, at least outs himself next to a total spanner to look better....
of all the star trek series, VOYAGER was by far the WORST (except for '7' of course and i like the doctor) ... 'tom paris' was just one of several HORRIBLE characters on this show... janeway (barely passable)...
Voyager had many ****ty characters but Tom and Harry aren't among them. They're not great but they're not bad either. Janeway, Neelix, Kes, and B'ellana were much worse characters. Tuvoc, the Doctor, and 7 of 9 were the only interesting characters on Voyager
i never saw why exactly he was a bad ass. as far as i can recall he never really pulled off any real cool stunt.
We all know a Tom. Can we really "hate" him? Nah... He's no worse than Harry Kim, even in the difference.
Tom was not a bad character..Tom was the mans man and he was a 20th century guy to boot, a mechanic working on muscle cars! This list is hating on voyager when tng and ds9 had far worse characters
Why isn't odo on this list, he could have done wayyy more with the character of a shapeshifter..Instead he was just love sappy all the time over kira??? LAME

Blame the writers, if they'd went with what worked for the Bashier character, rather than trying to force him into convenient spaces he would have done much better. developing a relationship with Jedzia or Garek would have done great things for him, instead of giving him the consolation prize Ezeri. I think even if they hadn't kept playing off the genetically engineered thing his last seasons would have been better. I think Fadil/Siddig would have gotten over that if they didn't try to make him a human version of data.
Bashir is one of my favorite characters.
For crying out loud, Bashir is not the worst Trek doctor! Beverly Crusher is!
He gave up on the final season because he didn't like the direction of his character becoming a super mutant. (stopped learning his lines and basically put in zero effort). I liked him the first 6 seasons though.
He's married to Barbara Hershey (!)
If that doesn't say something, I don't know what does :)
I love Bashir. Everybody here is just mad that all the girls want some of that, yo.
He was married to Nana Visitor (Major Kira). I had a grandmother named Nana.
Hey. He's great. He's Our Man Bashir. Good actor... I wish he did an episode w/ Voyager's Dr. This dude banged Major Kira outside the Trekverse. That had to be fun. We gotta give it up to our man Bashir... The Arrogance was justified in his case. He is NOT the worst DS9 character.
He got a lot better as the series went on. It's not the actors fault, there was no backstory written for Bashir when they started. Things improved.

Lor SUCKED!! Terrible. Plus Brent Spiner always totally overacted that character so badly. Cringeworthy. Although I love Data, and Brent did a great job portraying him most of the time, the guy is overrated as an actor otherwise. He overacted Dr. Soong too. Somehow he just nailed the Data role though. (Except in Masks. Ugh.)
i always thought Lor was stupid too. probably the lowlight of Brent Spiner's otherwise epic career.

I always thought they were really great characters. Annoying for sure, but because that's the way they were supposed to be. Both actresses did a really good job.

Her sole purpose was to be difficult for the sake of it.
She has the face of a rodent.
Comments:
Freakin' worst admiral ever. I could not fathom, how did she even fared well in Starfleet Academy with her outright "everything is a means to an end" persona. She completely lacks any compassion for any alien(OR human) life. She doesn't deserve an Admiral rank, she shouldn't boss around such great characters like Picard and Sisko. And also she makes the Russians unlikable again - she completely undoes everything Chekov did in TOS to make Russians look likable.
42.
Comments:
She should not be on this list. Do you remember the time she took her acting all the way up to 2!
Really shouldn't be on this list. Awesome character. in fact one of my favourite star trek characters of all time.
I've watched TNG many many times. The more I do the more clear it becomes that the Bev Crusher character is the most annoying to me. The whole 'mother figure' and morality speeches even surpass Troi's nagging of always reminding us of our 'feelings', like we're in some self-help seminar. Both characters were way too preachy. Even Picard had some moments, but don't even compare to Crusher and Troi's grating nagging.
She made me gag so much, I developed a bad case of acid reflux. Just think of this: if she wasn't on the show, Wesley wouldn't be either. Bam! Two terrible mistakes with one stone!
She shouldn't be on this list. Great character, more than well played.

The Kazon were SO not intimidating. I thought his name was Maj Cullah, but mostly I thought it looked like his head was just a giant turd. I also always imagined he smelled really bad. Glad they killed him off.
44.
At least he wasn't saving the universe every week like Wesley. The only time I liked him was when he was being friends with Nog. Otherwise he was just taking up space by being boring.
Comments:
I agree completely with other poster about he and Neelix being the two worst Star trek characters. In earlier episodes he was the whiney little ***** who sounded like he was three. In later episoded he was an all knowing punk smart ass. And the actor played both parts a little too well, pretty sure he isn"t that good.
Thanks to the introductory credits, I was reminded that he was a part of DS9 -- that's how memorable his character was......
45.
The most unlikable love interest in the history of Star Trek. Why did LaForge fall for her? The actress and Burton had no chemistry. Between her incessant whining and illogical behavior, not to mention that she was such a ****ty officer.
Comments:
Because Geordi was interested in any woman who could stand to be in the same room with him for more than five minutes. Remember when he had that beach date on the holodeck and he created a gay pirate to play the violin? Also fun: watch the episode with Aquiel and see if you can count how many times he says "hey pooch" when they first find the dog. Even Picard promoted him to chief engineer just to get him off the bridge... I know this was supposed to be about Aquiel, but I was just reminded of how much I hate Geordi and his hair clip "visor". I wouldn't let him work on my Camry, let alone my starship.

He wasn't annoying as a character, I mean he us everything you would expect him to be. But he has no place in the Star Trek series and I hated every scene where he was present. I skipped most of them after I couldn't take anymore.
48.
Ok... Enterprise may be the worst as a whole, but Malcolm tops the list of the worst of the worst.....

I dare you to hate him! You change one letter in his name and you can't help but smile when they say his name.

easily the sexiest of all star trek characters
7 and the doctor were the only two characters worth watching on that lame series...
who cares if it was blatant sexuality that the writers had in mind to grab the attention of us 'boys' (men, too!)?
In my opinion, in the top five best. Not just cause she was sexy. Jeri Ryan is a phenomenal actress. Only sad part we only got 3-4 seasons of her
Seven of Nine's "uniform" was a blatant attempt to add sex appeal to the 13 year olds who watched the show. But other than that she was ok. Plus rumor has it Kate Mulgrew almost quit when she came on. Seven added, Janeway leaves. Could you have made Voyager any better? She obviously didn't quit, but just by giving her incentive to go is enough for me to say, "Bravo Seven, Bravo!"
52.
Reallly bad acting. Always sounding harsh and unhappy with everything. Even smiling at his daughter or wife was not really believable. But for for some reason I kinda liked him.

Geordi was the worst. He should be higher. Worst TNG character by far.
Geordi was a brilliant character...Unless it was one of those episodes where it was about how shockingly bad he was with women. Those were absolutely awful. Sometimes as well especially in the early series they would send him on away missions on his own and they'd turn into completely boring over technical brain melters.
Worst Character ever.Him and neelix ruined their collective seriess
Crazy! Geordi was awesome! One of my favorite characters in all of Star Trek. Sometimes they had him go overboard with the technobabble, but he was a great character with a great personality. Very likeable, and the best engineer to ever grace Starfleet. Move over, Scotty. Gotta love the interactions with him and Data as well.
I liked Geordi but sometimes found him irritating....the relationship between he and Data was cool
I don't think Geordi should be on this list. Riker was FAR more annoying, that smug bastard. Unfortunately Geordi had to spout some of the most meaningless technobabble ever in Star Trek and I can understand people not liking that. Blame the writers.
Geordi: King of Technobabble
Hold on Captain, let me realign the phase couplings with a tachyon pulse that might reverse the polarity on the warp cores quantum generators therefore making a energy field in which the ship will be safe to enter the nubula.
Geordi La Forge grew on me like Voyager's Doctor. Didn't think I would like them -- but they ended up being pretty badass.
All he ever did was reverse the polarity of things to solve all problems.
I dig my man Geordi. He was inspirational even before Star Trek (Lavarr B.). On TNG, he was essentially the most interesting and certainly one of the most deep roles.
I loved Geordi. He shouldn't be on this list, in my opinion --especially not in the top twenty.
...really? geordi is a boss.... should be at the bottom of this list

Yes, Gul Dukat, was probably the single best villain, that is, one person and not a race. The best Star Trek Villains were #1 Khan and #2 The Borg, but that's more in the movies. The reason Dukat was such a good villain was because like real people, no one is 100% evil. Even the most horrible person in recorded human history, Hitler, was not 100% evil. He had a family he loved and people he loved. Also, people who have done the most egregious acts in history, have done so, because they think they're actually right and doing the world a service! They stand in front of a mirror twisting their mustache laughing maniacally. That's what make villains so scary, because they think they are doing the right thing!
A brillant antagonist, probably the best that Star Trek has produced.
Gul Dukat stands out as one of the greatest Star Trek villians ever. His episodes were some of the best, the absolute megalomania and superiority that Marc Alaimo pulled off was phenomenal acting. He was also one the more multidimensional characters. You loved him and hated him at the same time, the perfect villain.
Dukat was a great villain. I don't know how he could be considered a bad character, especially when he was so fun to watch.
Dukat was a great and complex villain. You were supposed to hate him and Marc Alaimo did a great job portraying him.
Gul Dukat should not be on any annoying character lists. He was a great character
Gul Dukat was the best Villain since Khan. He was devious yet subtle, he had a multi-dimensional personality and most importantly he was believable. He wasn't just pure evil, he was evil like real people are, like politicians. He was a better character then the entire cast of DS9. If you think Gul Dukat was a bad character then your judgement is suspect.
Obnoxious and overbearing, definitely. But the character added much to DS9, especially when going head to head against Sisko or Kira.

I know this is a character ranking and this is a bit of a joke, but the runabout was the worst ship in Starfleet. I always thought it was stupid when they went on...well, ANY mission to the Gamma Quadrant in a runabout, especially when they found out about the Dominion! Pretty much any ship could destroy it. Even after they got the Defiant, they took a runabout for some important missions. I understand, they couldn't take the Defiant on every mission, but they should have commissioned a new ship class, maybe part shuttle, part fighter. Something more like a Bajoran ship or a Maqui ship.
Would you take a transport ship, here on Earth through N. Korean waters by itself without an escort at least?

That was one misplaced Klingon. He seemed that he constantly had to prove himself to be Klingon. Not sure about any expertise he had and how in the hell he got promotion after promotion (quotas maybe, joking). But everyone on the bridge seem to have majored in one field of another while Worf appears to be just along for the ride. Hell even Wesley was headed into warp technology and engineering. Worf just majored in brooding.
Comments:
So inconsistent. One minute he's on the holodeck telling Wesley "only fools feel no fear", and the next minute he's about to commit suicide because "I feel fear". Plus he had cosmetic surgery on his ridges after the first season and for some reason wore a sash. Nobody else had a sash. the Bajorans couldn't wear their ear rings, but this big jerkoff can wear a sash? Also, he did all this in between his frequent instances of repeatedly abandoning his son.
As much as I really really like Michael Dorn, his personification od Worf didn't appeal to me at all. He behaved like a grumpy teenager all the time. Such as waste, the actor could go much more in a positive and strong attitude to make the character more believable. Kills all the authority, sympathy and sex appeal... which Michael Dorn is NOT lacking at all!!
I always thought he remained rather flat throughout the entire TNG series and even more so on DS9. There was simply not enough development of his role.
Also the actor was rather bad. Some of the other main Klingon characters came off so much stronger.
I will agree with Ezri and wesley but as for your other names it seems you despise every voyages character even though many peoplke like me loved voyager above all others..Harry was a good character, tuvok was one of my favorites..Quark and worf shoudln't be on this list, quark was one of my favorite top 5 characters in the star trek series and worf i san icon in the series...I enjoyed sisko until the whole emissary thing took over, wynn was horrible but it was her job to be..In my opinion it would be Neelix(I hate neelix) Ezri. Kira, Odo, Seska, Wesley, Alexander (as an adult)..This could be sacrilege but Voyager was the BEST show of the three, it had the most unique and entertaining storyline, always alone, never any help always having to scrounge and make alliances..BTW the BEST character to me in all star trek series was THE DOCTOR from voyager.. I have really started to dislike the next generation over the years, maybe because repetitive or just because it had no real unique storyline..Picard will always be my Number 2 (Patrick Stewart is awesome) he had the exact demeanor of how a captain should run a ship, set apart...I really despise how they started DS9 with bigotry on the part of sisko..Always made me really have to try to like him when he always acted so righteous, I can't stomach how a captain had all this power within starfleet whilst Picard always followed orders and protocol..That being said sisko makes the list easily just because if he had so much control over fleets he should have been made an admiral assigned to ds9
Worf was possibly a favorite for me. Yes, perhaps he majored in 'brooding' in college, and minored in angst. This doesn't mean he played the role poorly. On the contrary: Worf is one of the most colorfully deep characters on any of the series to date.

An almost omniscient being that has nothing better to do than pester Jean-Luc Picard. Really? That's all that he does? No, wait. He occasionally pesters Benjamin Sisko and Kathryn Janeway. Like Puck except without the wit.
Comments:
Q's bitchy, pouting antics as the ultimate Cosmic ***** got really old, really fast. His character was an excuse for lazily written episodes that didn't need to make sense.
Such a tiresome diva seemingly created for slash fan service. Q's routine got tedious & grating.
He should be much higher on the list. I always found episodes that centered around him as some of the most annoying ones.
As an actor, how do you portray an entity that has God-like powers (indeed, that are Gods!)? I just found the whole concept and character annoying for the most part -- e.g., a God getting sadistic pleasure in toying around with humans that he regards no more fondly than insects....
I have to say that John de Lancie did a pretty good job of playing Q, but after about ten or so "Q Episodes," I kind of got sick of seeing him on the show. He was too good at his role.
I thought that Q and the actor who played him was phenomenal. He actually did a better job with his character than a great number of the regulars in (name a series). Q was funny, snotty and just the right kind of evil.
The Q was kewl. too bad voyager just peed on the entire concept and made them into wussies

There are several other characters I'd happily pay to b**** slap across the face, Wesley Crusher being numeric uno. The captains are supreme dillholes. I've thought about being in a poker game with the captains and wonder who I'd jump across the table and choke the life out of first (and could I hold off longer than 5 minutes?). None of them peg the a**hole meter like Howard Stern (I'd have blown his alleged brains out before the deck was cut), but they are ALL so frickin' annoying! Hit Sisko with a crowbar? Bell teas! Kick Archer in the head? Oh yeah! Brass knucks for Janeway? No contest! A straight up fist fight for Kirk? Mano a Mano! But to ever so slowly choke the crap out of that pompous frog-biker Picard? Magnifique!
Comments:
Wow, either you don't like Star Trek, or you don't know how to critique actors, or possibly both. That comment isn't personal, just an observation. How could you not like ANY of them? Personally, I think Picard was the best captain. He made the best decisions that were best for the Federation, his crew and whoever he was fighting for or against. He was a negotiator, strategist, but there's a time for everything and when it was time to fight, he'd do it with all the passion a Klingon warrior has.
ouch, way too much hostility here
take a pill and chill
i loved all the captains except janeway

No way Jose. Awesome character, played by an equally awesome actor!
Quark was a wonderful character that grew throughout the series. Wonderfully acted as well. His relationship with Odo is fantastic. Ridiculous that he is on this list.
i'd put quark in my top 15 characters from all star trek series
What? Quark was phantastic! P h a n t a s t i c. One of the best characters on DS9.
No way something like that could be on DS9 for that long without getting shoved out an airlock with an axe stuck in his head! Never happen!

I can't watch DS9 literally because of her. I stand that bug eyed stare of hers and the fact that she's in literally every scene and her character was written as a big know-it-all. Star Trek fans such as her make the lousiest actors.
67.
The smarmiest Nazi on television. The all-time slickest jack-booted thug ever. Federation storm trooper zipping through the galaxy shoving doctorine down the throats of the unwashed masses. Supremely annoying s.o.b. and prize-winning stupid tit.
Comments:
I agree.Picard and Data were the best things in The Next Generation. And Troi's boobs.
Tying with Data in the best star trek tng character. What is wrong with you people. He's awesome, way cooler than Kirk.
First of all, the federation is a communist utopia ilby Picard's time, and nazi is pretty much the exact opposite. So strike one for not knowing the meaning of words you use. Picard was a diplomat, not a thug. I can't recall him shoving federation doctrine on anyone ever. So strike two for not ever watching the show apparently. And you called him a "tit" which makes me think you're probably English. That's strike three right there. You're just mad that Even a great man like Picard pretended to be French because he was so ashamed of his English ancestors. So three strikes and your out. That's baseball talk. I don't know cricket stuff. Maybe you're a wicked googily.
Patrick Stewart's portrayal of Picard MADE TNG into the success it was! Period!
Best character in the history of the Star Trek franchise. Who could ever suggest this?? Stewart was also the best actor to ever grace the franchise, by a mile.
Loved Picard.....he brought us Patrick Stewert, great actor......
Stewart is a good actor, and he shines out well among the mostly mediocre acting skills of the remaining TNG cast. Some of my favorite episodes of TNG are made great by Stewart's acting skills (Chain of Command #2, Inner Light, and the series finale as examples). I still liked Avery Brooks acting more (I know...controversial) but the Picard character would likely have been quite bland in the hands of a lesser actor than Stewart (imagine if Jonathan Frakes or Scott Bakula portrayed Picard - ACK!)
#1 character in all Star Trek. Though all characters, helped the franchise, he was instrumental. Patrick Stewart is good in anything. Gene Roddenbury was a genius for choosing him, to reignite his vision. Though the new movies are blockbusters, they are far from his vision. They are just a way to paramount and his family money. Sorry Gene, rest in peace and thanks for sharing your dreams with us.
I like Picard or rather Patrick Stewarts' portrayal. He made some of the most ridiculous, ill written dialog sound believable. Kudos to you Pat!

I'm hoping this entry will get the most DOWNVOTES on this list just to prove what a bad-ass, subtle, clever, and passionate character that Garak and the actor portraying him (Andrew J. Robinson) were and are!!!
Comments:
Yes, Andrew Robinson is a great actor, very underrated! I remember my friends and all calling Garak, the "gay Cardassian", because it seemed like he was gay. I saw a DS9 panel a year or two ago, maybe 3. I think it was in 2015. Anyway, I remember Andrew Robinson talking about his character and how ambiguous he was and decided to make him gay. That was never stated or even infered of course. Anyway, in the 24th century, most humanity had done away with the prejudice as a whole. I know DS9 was more of a throwback to showing humans as not being so perfect. They still make bad decisions sometimes. I'm not saying being gay is a bad decision, just the darker theme of DS9. Garak was one of my favorite characters and I'm glad they saw that and started developing his character. He did make a great spy!
i loved garak
unfortunately we didn't get to see enough of him
Oh, c'mon who would put Garak on this...OOOOHHH, I see! LOL...
