Best Tim Burton Movies

Beetlejuice manages to be funny and winsome and scary all at the same time. Michael Keaton turns in a great performance as the annoying and ever so slightly menacing title character. All is well in the end, which makes this movie even more fun to watch.

Although the story is a bit macabre (i.e., the main character has scissors for hands and is eventually abandoned by everyone as a freak), it still has a sweet side and has some really funny moments that are well worth watching. Johnny Depp gives an amazing performance as the slightly bewildered hero who must come to terms with being different.

Even though this movie uses claymation, it's not just for kids. It's beautifully put together with great, sweeping musical numbers, dark humor, and sympathetic characters. The story is imaginative and really takes the audience on a memorable trip.

Although it's a very well-worn story, Tim Burton brought a fresh eye to this creepy classic, making it scary again.

One of the funniest and most underrated movies to date, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure is a silly romp with wonderful, quirky characters and a delightfully implausible plot.
