With most their people riding bike, car pooling, and using public transportation they help with keeping exhausts out of the air. Plus the have found that they can use hydroelectric dams for their power supply.

They have actually found a way to turn yard clippings into a renewable resource for power. That and having their residents doing all they can to recycle.

Washington tends to the rainiest states in the United States. This is no surprise that they would make this list, but they also do their part in trying to help with stopping Global Warming.

In Berkeley people there usually use forms of Public Transportation, as well as getting their energy from renewable resources. They are working hard to GO GREEN and this is why they are in the top 5 of Greenest Cities.
