The biggest problem with Blade Runner is that there are some many different cuts available. While the main story stays the same, there are several implications that change slightly depending which version you watch. Either way, this story of a private eye trying to discover escaped robots who can blend in perfectly in the human world is top notch.

While it isn't really clear exactly which dystopia is being portrayed, this film is so visually striking its disturbing story has stood the test of time. Extremely controversial due to the intense violence and rape scenes, this movie has been banned in many countries around the world. The movie tells the story of a violent gang member who is
given an experimental "treatment" to reform him through psychological conditioning.
While the main character is a completely amoral villain, he is oddly compelling and almost likable. While the ending of the film differs from the novel, the movie is still an excellent piece of cinema.

V for Vendetta is a perfect example of a totalitarian government; a government gone terribly wrong.
Who ever thought anybody could feel such sympathy and feel such emotion from a masked gentleman who blow up historial buildings to make a statement?
And that statement is a strong one, mind you.
Just remember that people shouldn't be afraid of their government, the government should be afraid of its people!

In this futuristic film, we see that society is now divided into two groups: the thinkers and the workers. Each group are completely separated from each other, with neither group understanding what the other group does. However, each group is incomplete since neither function fully. When a thinker decided to travel to the underground to be with the workers, he is shocked at what he finds there.

Lets just pretend those terrible sequels never happened, okay? Because this was a really amazing film when it came out. The special effects were groundbreaking at the time, although now they have been mimicked and parodied so much that they've kind of lost their magic. But let's face it, this movie was mind-blowing when it came out, with a great plot line and amazing fight scenes. And the most brilliant part? They purposefully limited Keanu Reeves' lines: "I know kung-fu."

This movie really changed the dystopian film as we know it. It must be good because every post-apocalyptic movie since has stolen loads of ideas from it.

While the execution of this film isn't as great as it could be, it wins major points for concept. In this disturbing future, stupid people have outbred the intelligent, leaving the world in ruin due to immense idiocy. The movie isn't as hilarious as the trailer would leave you to believe, but there are still some moments of comedic genius, and it certainly makes you worry about the fate of the world if trailer trash continue to breed faster than intellectuals.
