Blur
Sadly, these guys never really got the credit they deserved on American radio or on MTV, but this is definitely one of the most solid britpop bands of all time. While they have no shortage of excellent songs, some of my favorites are "Girls and Boys," "Coffee & TV," "Song 2" ... I could go on and on.

Oasis
This British super band had an amazing amount of commercial success with countless hits on the radio and on MTV. Unfortunately, due to fights between the Gallagher brothers, the band ultimately broke up. You'd think that with all that fighting their songs would've been edgier, but these guys are pure pop.

The Stone Roses
Even though their hit song "I Wanna Be Adored," kind of sounds like a slower more mellow version of the Stooges "I Wanna Be Your Dog," these guys produced one great album. However, they were never really heard from again.

Pulp
Before frontman Jarvis Cocker left the band to persue a solo career, Pulp was one of the most influential britpop bands. Songs like "Common People" and "Disco 2000" are timeless classics that always succeed in triggering emotion.

Nothing beats the dulcet whiny tones of Morrisey. With Johnny Marr on guitar, The Smiths created catchy tunes that really capture youth culture.
