They are now in 2016! They should have been there decades ago. They are the founding fathers of Hard Rock together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

Kiss Report Abuse
There aren't many bands who embody Rock n' Roll more than Kiss. Again, it leads you to wonder exactly what the requirements are. Kiss are responsible for so many iconic rock anthems like "I Wanna Rock And Roll All Night," and have been putting on spectacular stage shows with all sorts of complex pyrotechnics. Not to mention their throngs of devoted fans.

Not a fan, but you gotta admit - they rewrote the book on live concerts. For that alone they deserve to be in.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers Report Abuse
While I'm not a fan of their more recent work, you can't deny the contribution they've made to the annals of Rock n' Roll. I'll certainly never forget that moment when I was a starry eyed teen and the entire band came out for their encore wearing only strategically placed socks. Ahhh, the 90s. I think they deserve to be inducted for the albums Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magic alone. Considering how widely popular this band has become, bridging all sorts of gaps in fans and genres, how can they not be nominated?

The Stooges Report Abuse
There aren't many rock n' roll frontmen who are more rock n' roll than Iggy Pop. These guys have been eligible since 1994 and yet they still haven't made the cut. Why? With such amazing and iconic rock n' roll tunes like "Lust for Life," "I Wanna Be Your Dog," and "Search and Destroy," it's amazing to think that this band isn't being recognized for their massive influence on punk music. he Stooges self-titled debut came out in 1969 and it's hard to imagine just how abrasive and loud the Stooges must have sounded to audiences at the time. Try putting them in context: the biggest albums of that year were Abbey Road, Blood, Sweat & Tears' self-titled record that had the hit "Spinning Wheel" and the original cast recording of "Hair." One of the biggest singles was "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies. Contrast that with "I Wanna Be Your Dog," and a sense of just how far ahead of the times they were begins to develop. They were so much of an influence on punk rock that they were retroactively dubbed "proto punk" by the media years later, no doubt because of their stripped down, abrasive, feedback-laden sound that lived on to influence acts as diverse as Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Guns n' Roses and the White Stripes. The Stooges were one of the architects of modern rock music, and their continued exclusion into the Hall is mind-boggling. They were expected to finally get in this year, but instead the Hall decided to that Jeff Beck needed to get in for the second time (he was also inducted as part of the Yardbirds). Still, of all the bands on this list, the Stooges probably have the best shot at making it in at some point. –

There can be no doubt about how massively popular The Cure has been, and how extremely influential they have been in the realms of new wave, goth, synth, etc.

ABBA Report Abuse
Ok, one could argue that disco isn't really rock n' roll, but ABBA do deserve to be recognized for something. I mean, they were hugely popular in their day, and their music is still amazingly popular, even being made into a hit musical and then a hollywood movie based on the musical. I mean, if the BeeGees can get in, it seems only fair to give ABBA their fair due. And one could argue that ABBA has more good songs than the BeeGees.
