Home Sweet Home (Motley Crew) Report Abuse
There's something very charming about the sweet simple piano intro to this ballad. Of course they ramp it up later so as to not lose their teenage boy demographic by exposing too much of their sensitive side, but the melody is strong and Vince Neil's vocals aren't half bad.

Every Rose Has it's Thorns (Poison) Report Abuse
While the lyrics aren't terribly deep, this song really has stood up the test of time. It's a solid hair metal classic. The songs conveys genuine emotion, describing how every romance goes sour at some point. Excellent songwriting by Poison frontman Bret Michaels, and definitely one of pop metal's finer moments.

While the sentiment might not be exactly romantic, this is arguably one of the best power ballads ever, cementing their place in the world of hard rock. The song showcases Joe Elliott's vocal style and spotlights the underrated guitar abilities of Phil Collen as well as Steve Clark.

Love of a Lifetime (Firehouse) Report Abuse
This band actually had several ballads that made the charts including "When I Look Into Your Eyes" and "I Live My Life For You," but "Love Of A Lifetime" was their biggest hit hit by far. It's a straight up love song, without any cynicism or double meanings, just a heartfelt song devoted to finally finding real love ... kind of makes you wonder if their other hair metal friends beat them up after they heard it.
