Things the Aussies claim as their own but which they have really stolen off the Kiwis

26 items ranked

Rivalry across the Tasman continues unabated with the Aussies laying claim to many things which are simply Kiwi - when will they stop being jealous and accept that NZ is no1?

The beginning of the meat pie can be traced back to the Neolithic Period around 9500 BC to the ancient Egyptians where rustic ancient pies were known as galettes. Galettes were oat, wheat, rye, and barley concoctions filled with honey and baked over hot coals

Also funny how you say it was developed in the 1920's when Newzealand already had it .!! " Sanitarium's original wheat biscuit, Granose, was marketed in New Zealand during the early 1900s, not only as a breakfast cereal but also as an alternative to bread" Aussies just steal everything then try & cover it up PINEAPPLE LUMPS ARE ALSO OURS

Developed, but was produced and sold first in newzealand! plus sanitarium was founded by a newzealand guy david halsey so regardless NEWZEALAND
