This artist was listed the 2nd best musician in the world (Beatles #1). He left the Jackson 5 and came back in the very late 70s leading to a tremendous 80s takeover.

Having a small solo career he really did alot before alcohol interfeared. He did work for charities and the army and made a great album (The Great Divide). Though there was pretty much one album, he and Creed reunited in 2009.

Even though he is currently a country artist, he began in a rock/country band (First Edition). Even though he left the hippie and war scene with only two good songs. He managed to make an amazing uprising in the 80s.
