This fort is said to be dated back to 1000BC and you can tell. It's magnificent. It has ancient scriptures and markings written along the walls which tell details of a lost civilization. Probably the gem of the Middle East.

There weren't any signs or maps around the fort, I guess because it's so old, but our tour guide took us there and it was great! Highly recommended.

The man in 'Metropolitan Hotel' said this is a must see but I could not find it from his directions. apparently it is popular

The “Gate of Bahrain” is located in Manama's central business district and is the main entrance to Manama souq. Originally planned by Sir Charles Belgrave in 1945, it accommodated the government offices of the time with the sea as its backdrop.
