Safest African and Middle Eastern Airlines Since 1970

The African continent has the highest rate of aircraft mishaps in the world although that its traffic is only just 4.5% of global traffic. Long regarded as one of the most dangerous to fly, Airlines in Africa and the Middle East are trying hard to clean up their image and some well run airlines are making huge profits. They are now investing heavily in new aircrafts to improve safety level as well as the service levels. Below is a list of African and Middle Eastern airlines that have no fatalities since 1970.

Based in Lanseria, South Africa and according to UK CAA statistics, Nationwide Airlines was the most punctual scheduled airline in 2007 between London and Johannesburg for the second consecutive year. Due to the global economic crisis, the airline voluntarily ceased all flight operations until further notice on April 29,2008.
