In spite of the name, Jim Thompson's House is one of the best examples of the traditional Thai house in this city. It was once the house of an American textile merchant Jim Thompson. The house is also a museum showcasing a vast collection of antiques.

Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo), Bangkok Report Abuse
Built by King Rama I in 1782, Wat Phra Kaeo is a royal temple built within the Grand Palace compound and as such has no resident monks. The temple is a treasure trove of Thai arts, and houses the most revered Buddha image in Thailand, the Emerald Buddha.
