Perhaps the most acclaimed and remembered (apart from the finale) episode, this one deals with Hawkeye making up officer Tuttle in order to get supplies for a nun. Things spiral out of control as the entire camp begins to think they’ve interacted with him.
Comments:
Tuttle is my #1 episode. Every once in a while, I'll blame Tuttle when something screws up at work/home. Unfortunately, not everyone is such a big fan of M.A.S.H and I get blank stares.
2.
One of the most heartbreaking episodes, as evidenced by the reactions of the actors. They were not told of that the character Henry Blake was going to be killed until Radar walked in with the new during filming, the news was such a shock that someone dropped a surgical instrument which clanged loudly to the ground, it was decided that this mistake be kept as it felt authentic. The news was so shocking to the world, that the next night on the Carol Burnett Show was a clip of Henry in a life raft shouting “I’m Ok! I’m Ok!”
3.
With one of the largest television audiences in history, the season finale did its audience proud. Emotion and heartache fill every minute of the episode and we find out more about each of the main characters which makes it even harder to say goodbye.
Comments:
“Winchester” is especially good in this one. The choice of music (Mozart’s Concerto for Claranet in A) is brilliant; providing the backdrop for Charles to share his musical love with the prisoners. When Charles learns of the Chinesse quintet’s deaths and smashes the record in his tent in grief-stricken response, he expresses in his whole being the sadness, tragedy and disapointing waste of war. Briliant acting which, inturn, highlights the fantastic writing. The movie length episode is filled with similar developments that hang together in the end as the players on the stage express their love for life and for each other.
I honestly didn't like how the show ended for a 1970's show that ran 11 seasons the end was really disappointing although touching...

Emmy award winning episode from the 3rd Season. Takes place entirely in the O.R. during a marathon surgery session with all the docs, even Sydney Friedman makes an appearance. One of the first episodes of a situation comedy where no laugh track is used throughout the show.

Episode shown in real time, ala 24 style. A solider is brought in with a shredded aorta. Hawkeye has 24 minutes after clamping it off to find another aorta to graft it on to save the soldier.
7.
While this may be one of the most unrealistic episodes, the comedy in this one is unmatched. Watch as the entire camp turns out to take bets on just how bad 5 o’clock Charlie will miss this time.

groundbreaking tv in MASH's 7th season. Entire episode filmed from the first person point of view of a wounded solider. From injury in the field, emergency evac to surgery, to rest and recuperation.

In this episode a patient is brought in who believes himself to be Jesus Christ. If that wasn’t enough excitement this news brings back the ever popular and ever crazy Colonel Flagg.

This touching episode has Sydney Freedman, Hawkeye and BJ helping army corpsman Sgt Nielson recover his memory after a terrible tragedy at the front. A funny side plot involves Charles deciding not to talk to anyone in the camp with Hawkeye and BJ taking it on as a challenge. Directed by Alan Alda.

A beautiful visiting Swedish female doctor shows Hawkeye up in the O.R. and he learns about the fragility of Male ego. A great episode highlighted by Margaret Houlihan telling Hawkeye off in front of the whole camp. He becomes a better man in the process.

Margaret has a wonderful scene in which she squares off against her nurses, in which the character first reveals her loneliness and Loretta Swit gets to show off her acting chops.
