Yes but not shocking in the same way as being the victim of a wanted serial killer (Gianni Versace), being murdered by the Manson family (Sharon Tate), being shot for no reason by your wife (Phil Hartman), dying from autoerotic asphyxsiation (David Carradine), blowing your brains out with a shotgun (Kurt Cobain), being shot by your dad (Marvin Gaye), being shot by a spree killer while performing on stage (Darrell Abbott), getting shot by accident (Brandon Lee), getting killed in a gang war (Tupac and Biggie) and many other shocking deaths. Know what I mean? I wasn't that surprised when MJ died, don't get me wrong you don't expect to turn on the TV and find out the king of pop is dead, but he hadn't looked well for 15 years or more and he was a very troubled person. I guess it's a tough call, like I don't think many people were surprised that Kurt Cobain killed himself, he always said that he would, but I still think it was shocking because of how extreme it was. I guess at least MJ has found some peace now and doesn't have to face being judged by everyone any more. He will never be forgotten you are right about that. The greatest showman of all times. Actually it was. He wasn't in the public eye for a while so when the news came on that he had past my family and I were completely shocked. I mean we didn't even know his health was failing. If we did, then I would agree with you. He looked perfectly fine in his preparation for his final tour. RIP King of Pop. Gone but NEVER forgotten.
