Most Depressing Songs

This song always seems to make me feel sad and almost cry. In the lyrics the guy is asking himself why he still loves her even after he left her awhile ago. How nothing is going his way but still he cares for her. It's a very sad song, especially for someone who has gone through a break up and still loves the person they were with.

The title gives enough "reason" as to why this song might be depressing . . . or make people feel depressed.

This song reminds me a lot of "My Immortal" by Evanescence... only, a little more graphic and despairing. (I'm a huge Evanescence fan, so that takes a lot for me to say.) Listen to the song, pay attention to the lyrics. You'll be wanting to run into the arms of anyone you love and making sure they know you love them.

It's about a love interest, to be honest. "I can't make it on my own" means he needs a certain somebody, and "because my heart is in Ohio" means that person he loves lives in Ohio. Yes, this could include family, but the next part of the song is passionately violent, so it seems to speak more of a love story. "It's hard to feel like I don't care at all" is because he is trying to deny he needs this person, but he does. "So cut my wrists and black my eyes" means not a whole lot on it's own... but "Because you kill me, you know you do you kill me well, you like it too and I can tell" shows this person has either inflicted intense emotional damage on him, or it kills him that he likes this person, or perhaps they just have a rather violent love life. It may speak of a highly passionate, somewhat violent love/hate style of relationship. So while he keeps saying he doesn't need this person anymore, or it's not the controlling factor in his life, his heart screams otherwise. While he keeps saying he can't stand this person or they don't matter, he keeps coming back for more, because he needs them in his life.

it means that he lost his girl and he just realized how good she was to him. He thinks about her day and night and he hopes that she misses him too.

How this list was started without the king of doom is beyond me. Tom Waits must have been raised on the pain and tears of others. I defy you to find a more depressing song than this one. A hooker writes an old boyfriend about how good her life is and how she's kicked heroin, only to find out that she has been lying the entire time and needs to borrow money to pay for a lawyer. Merry Christmas everybody! Be careful around sharp objects.

Its about the death of their drummer John "Beatz" Holohan who was killed in a van accident and it never fails to make me tear up

the lyrics are so emotional and real, i think a lot of people can relate it's just beautiful and really sad, it;s almost imposssible for me not to cry when i listen to it.

Songs connect better when you are in a similar situation... they just seems to fit... sometimes word for word.

Aside from the minor and slow pace to the song; lyrics like "It's way too broke to fix" and "I'd pay to have you near" really hit home.

This song isn't really sad, but it will definitely make you cry.
