I don't think it's THAT depressive but it's definitely a cool song with sad lyrics :P
This is one of, if not, the most depressing song I've ever heard in my life. Give it a listen, you'll probably agree.
a beautiful moving song that brings a depressing sound to the positives of life
So sad it will actually make you cry "Has no one told you she's not breathing?".
It's just depressing since it deals with death and the tune is just haunting and morose.
The message in this song is amazing and i cry every time i hear it. in the lyrics, you not only hear the message, but the pain in Mike Ness' voice- this is one of the songs he wrote after his close childhood friend (Dennis Danell) died. His vocals are very overpowering. Instead of putting this as a 'depressing song', its merely one thats very powerful and never fails to make me cry
Three stories of the shattered lives of young girls. The song itself is very depressing. I heard this one after my grandmas passing and although the two were unrelated it reminds me of her.
Despite it's upbeat tempo, the lyrics are very sad. Janet wrote the song as a tribute to her friends who have died of AIDS.
A great song about the pointlessness of a relationship and, well, everything, really.
He left his woman and now he regrets it and is asking God to take care of her because he can't. Just sad...
The title alone says it...if that doesn't do it, listen to the lyrics: Lord, how long have I got to keep on running, Seven hours, seven days or seven years? All I know is, since you've been gone I feel like I'm drowning in a river, Drowning in a river of tears. Drowning in a river. Feel like I'm drowning, Drowning in a river.
"never tell me dreams come true. just try it. i'll start a riot. they're writing songs of love. but not for me..."
Old man dies alone, all the good he did in the world is ignored. Neil did some incredibly emotional and thought-provoking songs in the early 1970s.
It's about a boy who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered in Glasgow a number of years ago. The song title refers to the tributes laid in memory, a very moving song despite it's somewhat upbeat feel. RIP Kris.
Its a sad, depressive and emo like song that brings tears to my eyes as it describes part of my life.
This song makes me think of my brother who was killed September 2nd 2010 10 days before he turned 20. This song is amazing I love it
A good song if you are depressed or self injure. This song definitely got me through hard times
Because it sounds like relationship that can't go on anymore... Even though they want it to
It's actually a very depressing song about how you can live, love and laugh, but in the end, everyone dies and it never really mattered. It's an acceptance of not only her death but also the smallness of her own life in the scheme of the things, so it's an acceptance of life too.
A song composed of actual letters sent to a son in America by a father left behind in Kilkelly, Co. Mayo. Written in the 19th century. The song just breaks your heart slowly.
I don't see why this isn't already on here... it always makes me cry. It's about a guy who fights with his love and then she kicks him out. He takes his stuff and drives away on his motorcycle, and after a little while she realizes she made a mistake, so she goes out to find him. She hears on the news about a motorcycle accident, and as she drives by it she sees her love in the crash. When she rushes over to his side, he's dying. Their last words to each other are "Now I'm here, no more fears, angel don't you cry, I'll meet you on the other side. Goodbye..." It really gets me every time.
A song about a man who wants to join a gang, but to join he must rape an innocent woman. He does by covering her face with her shirt, but when he removes the cover, he makes the shocking discovery it is his mother. As he cannot bare the guilt, he eventually commits suicide.
Most only hear the chorus, and think it's about love. While it is, listen to the whole thing. It's as beautiful as it is crushing.
"I don't want to be the one to see so far ahead, I have to live life looking back to see the skies turn red."
'If you had your time over again would you do it all the same'
Whilst not truly depressing, it is one of the most humbling songs i've ever heard.
Extremely sad, a couple working hard to be together but time is tearing them apart.
This song has so many meanings behind it. It Makes Me Cry Everytime.
A wonderfull portrayal with regard to the emptiness of life, how lonley we can feel and how helpless we are at changing it.
Its so depressing if anyone has no idea what people mean when they say they are beyond depressed they are numb, this song is perfect to educate them
Any song by these guys is probably going to be depressing but this one tops it on my list.
I am shocked this song isn't on here. I have heard so many depressive music from MCR and other metal to emotions by destiny's child. Even Hurt by christina but this song makes me cry the most... It's a wonderful song but I guess it is new out at the minute. Basically it's about a girl that he thought the world of and would do anything for and he found out she was cheating with another man. Despite this he still loves her and still would do anything for her. In the video he commits suicide. Very sad and makes me cry. Lovely song though. He's got a good voice.
Difficult to watch without crying. His singing moves me in a way that no other singer has ever done.
A very sad song about divorce. My parents are getting divorced and this song has helped me a lot. Pretty surprised it hasn't been up higher.
My Decembers is a love song about a girl and a boy and in this song, it's explaining their memories in December. Very depressing. It makes me cry all the time. Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word is about a man in a heartbroken depression, trying to get his girl back. Listen to the Elton John version. Blue ruined it...
This song has to do with the feeling that the world is a hypocritical and dark place.
On Sept 04 1999, I was 10, my step mother killed my father this was their song, this was also the song playing when I found him laying on the floor in our living room, then again this song was played at the memorial service. I personally cannot listen to this song because it without doubt reminds me of how much I would love to kill the b*tch that killed my father.
This song always seems to make me feel sad and almost cry. In the lyrics the guy is asking himself why he still loves her even after he left her awhile ago. How nothing is going his way but still he cares for her. It's a very sad song, especially for someone who has gone through a break up and still loves the person they were with.
The title gives enough "reason" as to why this song might be depressing . . . or make people feel depressed.
This song reminds me a lot of "My Immortal" by Evanescence... only, a little more graphic and despairing. (I'm a huge Evanescence fan, so that takes a lot for me to say.) Listen to the song, pay attention to the lyrics. You'll be wanting to run into the arms of anyone you love and making sure they know you love them.
It's about a love interest, to be honest. "I can't make it on my own" means he needs a certain somebody, and "because my heart is in Ohio" means that person he loves lives in Ohio. Yes, this could include family, but the next part of the song is passionately violent, so it seems to speak more of a love story. "It's hard to feel like I don't care at all" is because he is trying to deny he needs this person, but he does. "So cut my wrists and black my eyes" means not a whole lot on it's own... but "Because you kill me, you know you do you kill me well, you like it too and I can tell" shows this person has either inflicted intense emotional damage on him, or it kills him that he likes this person, or perhaps they just have a rather violent love life. It may speak of a highly passionate, somewhat violent love/hate style of relationship. So while he keeps saying he doesn't need this person anymore, or it's not the controlling factor in his life, his heart screams otherwise. While he keeps saying he can't stand this person or they don't matter, he keeps coming back for more, because he needs them in his life.
