Whether or not you believe that Jesus was who he said he was and whether or not you believe he rose from the grave overcoming death, you cannot deny that he ever existed. His existence is historically documented (outside of the Bible). That's a fact. Even religions outside of Christianity (including Islam) know this and hail him as one of the greatest prophets of all time. The only thing we can question, doubt or deny is whether he was the son of God and whether or not he rose from the dead. That is all. Now you may not believe in God and you may not agree with Christianity but to say Jesus is fake is to ignore history. Would you ever say that Alexander the Great was fake? How about Aristotle? Probably not. You probably just accept what history tells us about them but if Jesus is fake then they probably are too. After all, they both lived long before Jesus was even born. I invite you to educate yourself a little more on the subject next time before making such a lame and false statement.

Jesus didn't start a new religion - his disciples did. He never preached active rebellion against anyone, not the Romans, paganism, or Judaism. He was a courageous philosopher who preached love and peace in a world where the entire culture and economy was based on constant warfare.

George Washington Report Abuse
238 points - added 15 years ago by JDBLists - 1 comment
Comments:
Not given enough credit, even in America. He was the Che Guevara of his age, with everything to lose against impossible odds. Unlike hundreds of other rebel leaders, he practiced what he preached. He could've been America's first dictator, but was the father of not just America, but democracies everywhere. His greatest flaw was owning slaves and defending the existence of slavery in our new republic, but I suppose nobody can be perfect.

Robert E. Lee Report Abuse
136 points - added 15 years ago by JDBLists - 4 comments
Comments:
While Robert gave up his slaves willingly, Ulysses had to have soldiers come to his estate before he gave them up. If the civil war was won by the South he would have likely assisted in ending slavery in the confederacy.
Added 10 years ago by guest, 10 points Vote + to improve this comment's ranking Vote - to decrease this comment's ranking
Robert E. Lee did in fact own, inherit, sell, punish, and whip slaves. His military success is mainly attributable to his willingness to sacrifice troops - he has the highest casualty rate of any Civil War general. He was a blue blood fighting to uphold an aristocratic system based on slavery, a snob, and a traitor to the USA. Lee was a successful military leader and a rebel, but that doesn't make him a hero.

he hated slavery but he couldn't fight against his native Virginia

Robert E. Lee is interesting for having fought a losing war for an unsympathetic cause, yet remaining a sympathetic figure in history. Lee's legacy is borne from his capabilities and his fidelity to his duty.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Report Abuse
1st Law Minister of India, The GREATEST INDIAN ,Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee. Massihaa of Dalits and Backward casts of India. Ambedkar was born in a cast which was considered as the lowest of the low. People said that it was a sin it they offered him water to drink, and that if he sat in a cart it would become unclean. But this very man framed the Constitution for the country. His entire life was one of struggles. And his personal life was too misirable; he had lost his first wife and sons. But even though he did not lost hid dareness. It is no wonder that everyone called him ‘Babasaheb’, out of love and admiration. Bhimram Ambedkar was the lion-hearted man who fought for equality, justice and humanity.
