Megalodon Report Abuse

Comments:
Nature is crazy. Megalodon was a shark that could grow as long as 50 feet. What could possibly be the point of such horror?

Quetzalcoatlus Report Abuse
12 points - added 14 years ago by JDBLists - 1 comment
Comments:
Named after the Mesoamerican winged-serpent god, Quetzalcoatlus deserves a top spot for its name alone. Still, this giant pterosaur was big and wicked enough to get by on appearance too.

Comments:
Poor, poor dimetrodon; always getting lumped in with his dinosaur cousins, never getting the proper credit he deserves. This guy is one of the most iconic prehistoric non-dinosaur beasts.

Saber-toothed cat Report Abuse
7 points - added 14 years ago by JDBLists - 1 comment
Comments:
Saber-toothed cats are amazing. It's as if, for a little while, nature wasn't ready to give up on the awesomeness of dinosaurs and instead really wanted to try out a few more wacky designs before settling into things like horses and dogs.

It's a mercy that these giant crocodiles are extinct, because otherwise they would rule the entire world. Imagine if you saw a 40-foot crocodile. Tell me you wouldn't scream like a little girl.
