There was the UK version that started in the 1990s as the title suggests in a superstore based setting. Central Television made the programme. In the late 2000s, it had a brief revival. Dale Winton was the presenter.

Combat Report Abuse
Just discovered on a site that it's full title is 'Combat: Battle of The Regiments'. This short lived ITV/Central Television programme featured regiments (soldiers) from all over the United Kingdom competing for a prize. Obviously, the winning team won the prize at the end of a series. I know that former footballer Emlyn Hughes was one of the presenters.

Sporting Triangles Report Abuse
Central Television made this programme from late 1980s/early 90s. ITV's version of 'A Question Of Sport'. There was another one later in the 1990s called 'A Sport In Question' made by Carlton I think. It was on late night.

Take Your Pick Report Abuse
Originally in the 1950s. Remade by Thames Television in 1992 and ran for a number of series. Des O' Connor was the presenter and various co-presenters including Gayle and Gillian Blakeney from Australian soap Neighbours. Appeared in a well known shampoo advert during that time, I think 1993-94.

Cross Wits Report Abuse
This forgotten daytime game show started I think in the 1980s and ran for many years made by Tyne Tees Television. Crosswords is the name of the game that is still a popular pastime. Kind of like what Bullseye did to darts and made it popular.

Blockbusters Report Abuse
Originally, one of Central Television's most popular game shows during the 1980s and early part of the 1990s. The late Bob Holness was the presenter. It was revived in 2012 when radio DJ Simon Mayo presented it.

Gladiators Report Abuse
This was a game show of physical activity events such as 'The Wall', 'Duel' and 'Powerball'. Started in late 1992 and ran for a number of series during the 1990s. 'Jet', 'Cobra', 'Nightshade' and 'Wolf' were four of the British gladiators army. It was filmed at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham. Surprisingly, it was made by London Weekend Television (LWT) based at its studios on the South Bank.

Celebrity Squares Report Abuse
Based on the American equivalent 'Hollywood Squares'. The UK version started in the 1970s but I will always remember the 1990s version when Bob Monkhouse presented it. Central Television co-produced it with Reg Grundy, the latter partly made 'Keynotes', a one time music daytime game show and most famously, 'Going For Gold' with Henry Kelly. Celebrity Squares as far as know has been revived.

Fifteen To One Report Abuse
Channel 4 quiz show that started in the 1990s recently revived. Fifteen contestants each have three lives to begin with answer general knowledge questions from history to recent events. Get a question wrong, lose a life. Get a question right, maintain all three lives. That is in the first part. Same in the second part although contestants who lost a life in the first part (two lives left), get a question wrong, game over. Get a question right, he/she stays in the competition. Part three is where a contestant gets to 'nominate' another contestant. To do it, you have to get the question right before choosing a contestant. It is a game of strategy so this is where it gets exciting. Only three contestants will then go through to the final round. In the final round, the three contestants have been given three new lives plus any from previous rounds. There are forty questions and each question is worth ten points, four hundred points up for grabs. The player with the most points and any lives intact is the winner and goes through to the grand final. The grand final itself shown on Thursday 1st May 2014.
