She's a vibrant, beautiful, multi-faceted, multi-talented woman. She's the darling of romantic comedies. See Wedding Planner? Shall We Dance? Maid in Manhattan? But she's no pushover...see Enough? She should always be on a short list of Top Hispanic Actors/Actresses.

People may knock her voice but she is an entertainer 1st and foremost. Surprisingly, she is an accomplished actress with the record to prove it. Most of her movies speak for themselves.

Quite possibly the greatest hispanic actor of today. He has played many roles over the years on the stage, TV, and the movie screen. His most famous roles include Jaime Escalante from Stand and Deliver, El Pachuco in Zoot Suit, Lt. Martin Castillo in Miami Vice, and in more recent years, Admiral William Adama in the remake of Battlestar Galactica.

Joaquin Phoenix Report Abuse
Didn't realize he was Hispanic until recently when I found out that he was Puerto Rican. So he qualifies for this Top 20 list. Loved him with Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line, story of Johnny Cash. For that performance, he was nominated for the Best Actor Oscar, and won a Golden Globe in the same category in 2006.

He was born in PR of an Amerin Jewish mom and I think British dad...not sure how Hispanic that would make him since he left PR at a very young age. Reguardless, he is an amazing actor with much diversity.

You are correct he is not Puerto Rican and should not be on this list. But your stress on the "White" parents was not appropriate. His fathers Spanish ancestry is like most Americans that are a little of everything. He is American

She is a type-cast, yes. Loud, abnoxious, annoying nasal voice. But she hits the roles with a firebrand that only she can do. And well, she did get an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress in 1993 for "Fearless". She broke with character her performance was absolutely brilliant. Not bad for a girl from the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn who spent most of her young life in foster care. A truly American tale of dreams coming true.
