It’s true, there is a Do-Not-Call list that must be followed (or a fine of $10,000 can be placed on the company calling). The moment you utter those words, that’s it. They can’t push the issue and you will not be bothered again.

A lot of people don’t realize this, but once you say that you are no longer interested, the telemarketer doesn’t have a choice but to remove you from the list (for now). No harm, no foul … but, worth saying to be left alone

Fact is they don’t know either way. Telemarketers are given a list and they hope it’s the right name to the number being dialed. They don’t know your voice, so just tell them they have the wrong number! Rest assured that they will no longer call you again.

Yes, it’s a bit harsh, but again, insures that you won’t be called again. Not only will the telemarketer feel horrible about the situation, but will be very quick in getting off the phone with you. Dirty deed done.

Don’t Speak English
Just make sure when you say this, you don’t back it up with an easy language such as Spanish (or they may put a Spanish Speaking Telemarketer on the phone). Fact is most don’t know any other language than a few, so if you pretend to speak French, chances are they won’t know the difference and will just hang up.
