The early 1980s to mid 1980s was a great time for computer games. Many great ideas were brought forth. Graphics were not great, but still developers provided great game ideas and with adequate speeds.

Pirates

This game is one of Sid Meiers first games and is a well designed game where players take the role of a pirate sailing the seven seas. Considered by many to be one of the best games of the time period.

Imperium Galactum

This is a space conquest game and very well done. Up to 4 players can play, including 4 human players playing hot-seat.

Seven Cities of Gold

This is possibly one of the greatest computer games of all time. It has won numerous awards and many claim still claim it as one of the greatest games. The player explores the new world, either historical map or a random generated map.

Cosmic Balance

This is a 2-player game. Each player designs a space fleet, each ship in the fleet is individually designed. The two fleets then fight it out to see who can win, testing the designs of the fleet and the tactical abilities of the players. Great concept. Haven't seen anything like it since.

Crush Crumble and Chomp

A very unique idea where the player designs a monster, based on a body type and giving it certain powers. The player chooses a city to attack and then tries to wreak as much havoc as possible before the humans destroy the monster.
