Finally the Congress recognized Andrew as a human.Andrew was already ill and 200 years old while Portia was also bed ridden and breathing through a life support. Andrew and Portia watched the Congress on TV declaring Andrew as a human and validated his marriage with Portia. Andrew dies while listening to the broadcast, and Portia orders their nurse, a now recognizably human Galatea, to unplug her life support machine. The movie ends with Portia about to die hand-in-hand with Andrew, as she whispers to him "See you soon." A very moving story.
