Comments:
A decent book, writing style is quite amateur and sometimes frustrating in how she writes, but again this being her first book, I wouldn't take it too harshly on her. A book with a slow start but the last 150 pages is mindblowing enough to make one begging for more Cornwell magic:) 3.5/5

Portrait of a Killer - Jack the Ripper - Case Closed (2002) Report Abuse
This is a book about the disturbing history of Jack the Ripper and disclosure of Cornwell's resolution: The Ripper was Walter Sickert, an English artist who painted some of the murder scenes in his art and wrote the Ripper letters to the police and newspapers. Don't read this book alone after dark.

Black Notice (2000) Report Abuse
Once again, Cornwell does an excellent job of pulling the reader into what each of the main characters are feeling in the aftermath of the death of Benton Wesley (Scarpetta's long time love). This read will keep you on the edge of your seat.
